How about just doing the best you can without becoming disrespectful, hateful or in your face obnoxious? Is that too much to ask? And I’m asking that of everyone. Do unto others...
That is certain reasonable, but as the wise RF moderator rules warn, things can get hot in the kitchen, thus it is not for those who are faint of heart (nor flame, or only want to give attack but cannot take challenges).
And doing unto others means turning the other cheek when insulted, yet I do not think this meant doing so to attacks on doctrine and principles, whether by liberals or those whose allegiance is to men above the word of God.
But i agree the the primary purpose of FR is not to foster theological debate, and the daily posting of articles on provocative views distinctive to one faith (which one group is esp. prone to do redundantly) can sometimes result in more heat than light, and more smoke then fire.
. I would propose (not that FR is a democracy and you are asking for a vote) that such articles of provocative views (like Purgatory, SS) be limited to maybe 2 per week by each side of major approved groups. As it is, since the censor of last July such articles have almost exclusive been by Catholics (Purgatory is Based on a Promise of Jesus, etc.).
Thanks for allowing reasonable debate thru the years (which i think made FR more popular) under the best mods in the business (my opinion), and for dialog on this.

I actually esteem those who seek a higher level of debate on both sides, which i need to do better at. Though some consider any opposition at all to their faith to be disrespectful regardless of warrant, I think reasoned argumentation in seeking to go where the Truth will lead should be sought as the means and tenor of exchange (unlike liberals who counter substance with emotion). Which may mean we typically need to ignore certain posters, or be ignored ourselves.
