A female FDNY recruit has graduated from the Fire Academy after her instructors fudged on her strength, agility and running requirements, insiders say.
Choeurlyne Doirin-Holder, 39, never achieved a passing score of 17 minutes and 50 seconds on the Functional Skills Test, a course of job-related tasks in full gear such as stretching hoses and dragging dummies, according to an FDNY source familiar with the training. She did not come in under 24 minutes in practice tests.
Doirin-Holder also failed to run the required 1.5 miles in 12 minutes or less - even after the running course was slashed by an estimated quarter-mile, the source said, alleging that the start and finish lines were moved to shorten the run.
She completed the abbreviated run in 12:06, the source said.
Under a recent loosening of rules ordered by FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro, probationary firefighters who fail the run can demonstrate adequate aerobic capacity on a StairÂMaster machine - which she was allowed to do, the source said.
The FDNY has come Âunder fire for its lack of female firefighters, who now number 49 - less than half of 1 percent of the 10,500-person force.
Doirin-Holder, a former city EMT, is one of 282 court-ordered "priority hires" who Brooklyn federal Judge Nicholas Garaufis ordered must get preference because of past discrimination against minorities.

Exactly.
Did a course recently for 6 month and I was 45.
I was the second oldest and yet the fittest, strongest pound for pound and out did the 20 plus kids easily. I walked away from that course stunned at how the youth today do not care about their fitness, their appearance, or even have any pride a guy who is double their age beats them every day at fitness.
Give me a 50 year old who is fit than a 20 year old who can;pt even run a mile and a half in 10 minutes.
This has been happening in the military for decades now.
One of the many reasons I got out.
Not just men, but women and children, because these failures weren't qualified to do the job of fighting fires and saving lives.
BTW, expect people who are incompetent and unqualified to show up in other professions, like teachers, judges, and doctors. We already have elected many incompetent, unqualified, and traitorous examples as President and Senators who have placed their fellow incompetent and unqualified traitors in judgeships and on the SCOTUS.
If only the jerks who implement affirmative-action hirings and promotions were subject to the resulting catastrophes....

FDNY recruit failed her way into $81,000 desk job
An FDNY recruit is getting a third chance to pass the training academy after collecting top firefighter pay for a year in desk jobs, sources told The Post.
Choeurlyne Doirin-Holder, 39 — one of four women among 320 current probies in training — failed midway through a Fire Academy class in 2013, and returned to her former job as an EMT.
After entering another class in early 2014, she dropped out because of an injury. But the FDNY kept Doirin-Holder on payroll.
She made $81,376, including overtime, last year — about $26,000 more than the $55,144 she made as an EMT in 2013, records show. Most probies get starting firefighter pay of $39,370.
The FDNY did not assign Doirin-Holder to two subsequent academy classes. She worked desk jobs first at headquarters, then on Randalls Island.

White privilege
Stunning how those who shout white privilege do not see that it is blacks and other minorities who have privilege.
Affirmative action, meaning a white person does not get the job many times because they are white.
Racial quotas etc. Less qualified people in positions based on that they are white.
You have all these black groups, actually as I type this I see on the news that the MO university has racial problems and yet the guy speaking is the head of the black college group.
So they do not see the hypocrisy of having a group based on being black while calling whites are racist and then these black group wants more blacks at the school, wants more black professors even though they might be less qualified.
Sick of this racial and sexist, queer victim card crap,.

We are talking averages for this particular job.
Firefighting is a particularly physical job that takes a huge toll on the body of most people that do it.
Mostly it is done by young men who start when they are in their early twenties and retire at 50 (or earlier) because they are broken physically and they can.
A few stay on as supervisory or investigative personnel.
I know a few firefighters on disability for injuries on the job. Back and hip injuries.
I took the physical agility test for a city fire department when I was 26 years old. I scored a 95 on it. The females couldn’t drag the 130 pound dummy the fifty or sixty feet that was required. I got screwed out of being hired because the mayor’s nephew didn’t pass the test so they scrapped the list. The city still doesn’t have a female firefighter.
