This is not a non news hit piece. Does it show media bias since the media will not publish this type of story about Dems. Yes, but this story shows that Carson is not the man I thought he is. I’d much rather have this type of story out now rather than later, so that we can judge Ben Carson’s character early in the process.
He should have felt betrayed and broke off his relationship with this man, but instead he still has business dealings with him and a continued relationship. The man was given a lenient sentence because of references from Carson and others. He was sentenced to house arrest in his over 8,000 square foot mansion and was still allowed to petition the court to leave for a month at a time. Evidently, the law was not applied equally in this case. Ben’s friend and business partner committed fraud and received a slap on the hand.
My brother had a friend that he became a business partner with. They are both Christian, but his friend had been caught driving 100 MPH+ down the 5 freeway in CA and had a drink before the ride; he could have very easily killed himself and others
Now my brother and I both think that ANY person that is caught doing something like this should get the full penalty of the law; but that does not mean that we would not help a friend out in court as a character witness. My brother's friend still got a hefty fine and 30 days work furlough in which My brother and I think he deserved.
Now does my brother still do business with him? Of course he does; the conviction had nothing to do with him. Can my brother be right in forgiving his friend? My brother has nothing to forgive as it had nothing to do with him, nor did the incident disrupt there business together.
I'll grant you this; there is one question I would ask of Carson about Costa, and that being since he is such a close friend, would he bring him on his staff as President? The article does not say whether or not Costa is on his election staff at present.
