Same thing happened to Jessica Alba who came to Hollywood as a devout Christian and after a few years basically said she had shrugged it all off, very clearly succumbing and conforming to peer pressure in Hollyweird.

Looks like the kooks in hollyweird have managed to switch her. I thought she used to be at least a little conservative. To borrow a line from Neville Sinclair in the Rocketeer It wasn't lies, Jenny. It was acting.
I doubt she was Conservative, just hiding her views until she was popular and rich enough not to worry about the little people.
