Apocalyptic scenes as Paris hit by multiple attacks

PARIS (AFP) -

Sirens blaring, blood on the roads, weeping relatives: nightmare scenes played out on the streets of Paris on Friday night as at least 120 people were killed in simultaneous attacks.

Pierre Montfort lives close to a Cambodian restaurant on Rue Bichat, where one of seven attacks took place in a night of bloodshed not seen in decades.

"We heard the sound of guns, 30-second bursts. It was endless. We thought it was fireworks," he said.

Another witness described the scene: "For a moment, we could only see the flames from the gun. We were scared, how did we know he wasn't going to shoot the windows?"

Florence said she arrived by scooter a minute or so after.

"It was surreal, everyone was on the ground. No one was moving inside the Petit Cambodge restaurant and everyone was on the ground in bar Carillon," she said.

"It was very calm -- people didn't understand what was going on. A young girl was being carried in the arms of a young man. She seemed to be dead."

I have life essential life insurance by being prepared. Those poor people in Paris do not have that and I am sorry they are in that fix.

I'm sorry as well, since there are no doubt at least some decent folks there who are not happy with living under socialist limp-wristed rule. However, their entire country is a gun free zone and they continually elect muzzie-butt-kissing p*ssies for leaders. Time to wake up or die, just like the rest of Europe. If I was a muzzie death cult member, I'd go after the notorious cheese-eating surrender monkeys first too. Little chance of retaliation in their pathetic post-Napoleanic paradise.

Border closing - a bit late. Why don’t they stop letting these people flood into the country?

The terrorist attack at the stadium could have been worse if the suicide bomber would have detonated the bomb inside the stadium instead of outside. It may be possible that the bomb detonated prematurely or that security measures are set up to trigger explosives to go off outside of the stadium.

The French have surrendered once in their proud history.

Dien Bien Phu
WWII
Franco-Prussian War
Napoleon after Waterloo
Napoleon after the Six Days Campaign
French and Indian War
War of Spanish Succession

They don't often lose their country, but they lose a lot of wars

“Always be aware of your surroundings and the people nearby and avoid potential death traps.”

There are a fair number of muzzies where I live —and they shop at Costco. For years now, when I’m shopping with my wife and see the telltale muzzie headscarf, I estimate their “blast radius” and turn down another aisle. Nothing like pallets filled with 100 pound bags of rice to help absorb the shock wave. The first couple of times I did this my wife thought I was nuts...now, she’s an expert at my version of Costco “duck and cover.”

Hard to believe that just a generation ago the worst thing to watch for most of the time were pickpockets and purse snatchers.

Why don’t we?
I have to believe there is a plan behind all of this.
What happens when it’s no longer safe to go outside?
People will then demand that the government, that created the problem, “DO SOMETHING!” and that is just what the governments wants.
Marshal law, constitution suspended, liberty gone forever. You and I enslaved.
But hey, you’ll be ‘safe’. Just like you can “keep your doctor.”
And yet, it looks like most Americans are blinded by leftist ideology.
Obama was reelected! What does that tell you about America as a nation?
We have NO discernment. I knew he was a phony and you probably did, too. But most drank the Kool Aid.
I do believe God is punishing our nation and the western world in general for our rejected of Him, his truth and his Son. It’s going to get really ugly from this point forward. Even if Trump, Carson or Cruz get elected it might only give us a few more years - but maybe not. I read the FBI is currently tracking 1,000 ISIS terrorists in the U.S. We know there are sleeper cells in many states. There is a plan, believe me. Change you can believe in.

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools...”

The French also basically surrendered to the North Vietnamese and handed the war in Vietnam over to the US in the early 1960s.

We didn't do much better. The French were defeated by the North Vietnamese, but not without a long difficult fight.

I seem to recall when George W. Bush was putting together a coalition to put down the tyranny of Saddam Hussein, France declined to participate because of their thriving trade relationship (despite the sanctions in place at the time) with Iraq. Our armed forces had stabilized and pacified most of the region's tribal animosities through reason and negotiation. And then Barack Hussein (no apparent connection with Saddam) Obama snatched defeat from the jaws of victory creating the fertile environment that produced ISIS. Now it looks like we are going to have to do it all over again.

Keep in mind that early in his Presidency, Hollande sent the French military to drive Al Quaeda in the Islamic Magreb (AQIM - a bunch of muslim mercenaries, formerly employed by Qadaffi) out of Northern Mali. They were ruthless and efficient, and quickly returned Timbuktu and the North to the control of the Central Government.

Overseas, they have a history of unleashing Foreign Legoinaires, or less disciplined local surrogates, to do hard bloody work for them.

The French have significant combat capability that they can wield, if they would like to wage some pitiless war on ISIS, including the aircraft carrier Charles DeGaulle, which is currently deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

They could also arm Kurds with heavy weapons. Nobody kicks ISIS butts as hard or as frequently as Kurds.

After Charlie Hebdo, I felt real sympathy for France.

I wonder if Charlie Hebdo will draw a cartoon this time.

I think you are misremembering. France did send an airborne brigade which participated in Desert Storm, advancing and holding down the far left flank of the attack. If you are referring to the aftermath, Bush 43 never intended to remove Saddam from power, because he and all his advisors feared a power vacuum that would be filled by Iran.

Disregard my previous post, I misread which Bush. It’s late, time to go to bed.

It might — if God doesn’t get you to notice that He means something in any other way.

Yeah - He's gonna go all "Old Testament" on us because the New Covenant is just so dissatisfying...
