Hollande: 'We are going to lead a war which will be pitiless'
Washington Examiner ^ | 11/13/15 | Pete Kasperowicz

Posted on 11/13/2015 7:52:05 PM PST by markomalley

French President Francois Hollande promised early Saturday morning that France would respond to terrorist attacks that killed more than 120 people with a "pitiless" war against the group responsible.

"We are going to lead a war which will be pitiless," he said at the Bataclan, the site of one of the attacks, according to the Guardian.

"Because when terrorists are capable of committing such atrocities, they must be certain that they are facing a determined France, a united France, a France that is together and does not let itself be moved, even if today we express infinite sorrow," Hollande added.

Hollande's remarks came after what appears to be the biggest terrorist attack ever on French soil, and some emerging signs that the Islamic State is responsible.

They also may pose a challenge to the Obama administration, which has faced increasing criticism about whether its plan to "degrade and ultimately destroy" ISIS is working fast enough. Secretary of State John Kerry was in Vienna Friday for more talks about how to handle the Syrian civil war, which has been credited with creating the conditions for the Islamic State to thrive there.

"These are heinous, evil, vile acts," Kerry said in response to the attacks. "Those of us who can must do everything in our power to fight back against what can only be considered an assault on our common humanity."

You nailed it.

They take great pride in their tears.

Removing the islamic trash will require recognition of an evil cult. They can’t do that.

I wonder....if American mosques would be on fire if this happened in an American city. We’ve been attacked and there has been no public reaction.

I wonder why that is?

Years ago I was in Pittsburgh at a US open golf tournament. They had to bus us past a mega mosque. As we drove past it, you could see the swords on the emblem on the building.

Every guy on the bus stared out the window, recognizing it for what it is. A military training installation and headquarters.

If not us, our kids will be throwing grenades into these buildings in order to survive.
Every guy on the bus knew it.

Jon 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have distress: but have confidence, I have overcome the world.

Courage! The faithful remain even in France, though they may be few. And Christianity flourishes under adversity, whereas islam does not.

I agree, but after 0bmber it may have left a sour taste for blacks in low info people’s minds.

I’d like to see him as VP at least or Sec of Defense. Then run for President.

I would not hesitate to vote for him. Hubby is retired Military and I know his record.

He is noting like the affirmative action colin powell who I never respected.

It is in the planning, and it will be worse than this small incident in France and Germany combined, more like the 9/11 scale as they hate us more.

The takeaway here is that evidently John Kerry is some sort of human being.

A lot of hot air, I’ll believe it when I see it.

Exactly. I don't think he realizes that the point of war is to destroy the enemy. Wherever he may be. I also doubt that Hollande has the b@ll$ to prosecute such a war at all.

When I see the French military doing muslim deportation and islamo terror sweeps through multitude of Sharia no go zones across France, then I’ll know they’re serious. Until, then, it will be business as usual and Paris will keep on burning.

Are Muslim "no go" zones included in France's future?

Yes, I know they are.

You already lost.

Remember Hollande gave a speech where he said if the French wouldn't willingly breed with the "immigrants" then government would have to devise ways to force them to do it.

“The First Amendment...leaves no apparent way to discriminate against Muslims. But, somehow, we’re going to have to figure out a way around it.”

There are well established exceptions to unlimited free speech (slander, incitement, fighting words, yelling fire in a crowded theater).

We just have to recognize when something claiming to be a religion has gone beyond what is reasonably within the bounds of religion to be protected.

Islam incites to violence, infringes on individual and human rights, and is subversive to the State. If legal determinations were made that elements of the Koran constitute hate speech, incitement or treason; then promoting it (or those particular elements) could be outlawed and legally sanctioned). Indeed, on the basis of any individual incident this could be determined in court, but being reversed could set legal precedent in the other direction.

Bottom Line: The truth about Islam needs to be admitted for the law to work against it.

It is a totalitarian political movement that has co-opted religion into its movement, and adopted criminal practices. Those political and criminal elements must not receive the protections of religion. Religion is protected to protect the individual’s freedom of conscience, not to shield criminal behavior from enforcement.

Hollande, you have millions of ISIS sympathizers illegally living in France.

I don’t believe you’ll do a thing. I dare you to.
