I see only blogs - no news sites - reporting 10,000 Syrian refugees in the U.S.

Here’s a news story that mentions around 6 Syrian refugees and 6 Afghanistan refugees arriving in Louisiana so far this year, but more than 200 refugees in Texas:

212 refugees is worrisome, as is. But it’s not 10,000.

Okay, never mind.

In rereading the story you posted, I now see that the U.S. anticipates 10,000 eventually, not that 10,000 have already arrived.
