It has been 20 years since Baltimore was a city of 700,000 people. It has been shrinking ever since. We've lost about 80,000 residents since 1995. For that reason — the trend toward a smaller city — I started to believe that we'd never again see 300 homicides in a single year. There just can't be that much anger, stupidity and hatred in this city.
And certainly fewer people could only mean fewer chances for the conflicts that lead to the senseless shootings and the premature deaths.
In fact, until Saturday, we had not experienced 300 homicides since 1999, the last year of one of the dreariest decades in the city's history.
The 1990s in Baltimore were marked by two things — lots of homicides and years when up to 10,000 people left the city. It seemed like nothing could stop either phenomenon. Kurt L. Schmoke was mayor, a good man overwhelmed by these trends and at a loss to arrest them. Officially, Baltimore seemed to shrug with surrender in those days.
The decade started with a jump in killings, from 262 in 1989 to 305 in 1990, and then 300 or more in each of the nine years that followed. Crack cocaine had come to Baltimore, and it was generally understood that the insane market for crack had fueled many of those killings: 304 in 1991, 335 in 1992, 353 in 1993, 321 in 1994.

Just read the article for Schmoke on Wikipedia. Nowhere in the body of the article does it mention he is a Democrat. Only in the biographic section is it mentioned.
But he is in a long line of Democratic Mayors who destroyed Baltimore and made it the smoking ruin it is today.

That was the seventh year of the Clinton administration, right?
And how many years has Obama been in office?
Just a coincidence, I'm sure.
When people vote with their feet, whether it is from Syria or Mexico or Baltimore, it is always a certain type of people and not the typcial person of the sending location.
Are the people who left Baltimore those on welfare? Or the working poor? or the middle class? or the yuppies or whom?
Generally speaking, the people who fled the city for the burbs were those people who wanted better schools and less harrassment by building and zoning commssions.
Generally speaking it was the two extremes who left Mexico in the 80s and 90s. 90% were Mexicans who came to the US to work,devout Christians of high moral character. 10% were common criminals wanted by the local village police in Mexico and fleeing those police.
Offering a path of welfare to Muslim refugees will attract a certain type of Muslim.
Why do you suppose the 80,000 left town?

We have a political party and their president who will not acknowledge that the root of world wide terrorism is radical Islam.
The same political party and their president refuse to acknowledge that the root cause of most black poverty, black crime, black on black killing and black violence against whites is the black victim culture created by, kept alive by, and pandered to, by the same democrats and their presidents.
We cannot expect to defeat muslim terrorism or the black gangsta culture crime wave with leaders who will not even acknowledge the root cause of either one.

And I’d like to point out to this befuddled ‘contract reporter’ that his president is opening the jails to let out the same crack cocaine dealers that destroyed B-more.

Many of them came down here to pollute our county in Virginia.Our property values skyrocketed as well as our taxes as we had to accommodate all their spawn at our schools and they started asking for all the free stuff that bankrupted the places from which they came.
We are lucky that not enough of them arrived to make our county liberal. We still vote about 65% conservative and some have left after foreclosures and bankruptcies.
Since the worthless carpetbagger McAuliffe became governor Virginia has actually lost population and since the most mobile people in our economy are the takers, who move from one place to another to get their free stuff, we have mostly lost a bunch of worthless Democrats.
