To minimise the risk to the civilian drivers of the ISIL oil tankers, leaflets were dropped before the bombings to give them a chance to abandon their vehicles. "Warning: airstrikes are coming. Get away from your oil trucks immediately," the leaflets read.

Why?..............................

I'm not sure how much warning was given. Me, I'd have given them about 10 seconds. First plane drops the leaflets, every other plane drops bombs or shoots the $hit out of the convoy with 30mm or 40mm or 105mm shells (depending on whether you're using A-10s, AC-130s or both). Oh, and the leaflets would be in English.

Me? I would just tape the leaflets to the sub-munitions of a nice load of cluster bombs.
