Donald Trump Could Win the Republican Nomination in a Blowout

Donald Trump is looking increasingly likely to win the Republican nomination in 2016 – and it may not even be close.

Four months after being widely dismissed as a celebrity candidate who would wither under scrutiny, Trump isn’t just defying political gravity. He’s powering past it as he expands his leads in both national polls and critical early voting states.

A new Reuters poll conducted mostly after the November 13 attacks in Paris found Trump with more than double the support of his nearest rival nationally, taking 36 percent of Republican primary voters to Ben Carson’s 14.6 percent. A Morning Consult poll released Tuesday showed the billionaire with an even loftier lead, polling 38 percent to Carson’s 19 percent as Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz languished in the single digits.

A University of Massachusetts survey released Monday shows a closer contest – but Donald Trump still manages to outpoll the fading Ben Carson by nine points.

I'd like to see Milbank eat his column.

But only after I wiped my butt on it.

Looks pretty certain at this point that the Democrats and the Republicans are both going to offer up candidates for president in 2016 who voted for Obama in 2012.

The more the world suffers because of the immigrant invasion..and the more Obama ignores it..the more likely Trump is just going to become President.

It’s a perfect storm for him. Right Place Right time. USA is falling apart

Polls say that Trump has less chance of beating Hillary than other GOP candidates.

I think that's exactly what FOX and the GOPe WANT you and I to believe.

How about this newsmax story? Is it fake?

Donald Trump recalls with chagrin that he supported Barack Obama for president in 2008...

Michael Medved was nattering that there would be a showdown at the convention if Trump wins in a blowout. He suggested the delegates would put forward Paul Ryan. He wasn’t kidding. Does he know something??

will win the general election in a 1984 Reaganesque landslide fashion.

I wish. But I doubt. In 1984 47% of our population was not on the dole.

If Trump sweeps, then the majority of the delegates will be those who signed up to be Trump delegates. People who chose to be Trump delegates won’t flip, cheaply.

Trump would stomp Hillary.

Yes, I have to think people will feel safer with Trump opposing militant Islam than somebody who just said:

"Let's be clear: Islam is not our adversary. Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism."

Is that a bumper sticker? I love it! I’d even buy a coffee cup that said “Stay Calm and Cruz On.”

That scenario sounds like a Michael Moore wet dream as if Trump were cheated out of his nomination he’d go rogue (third party).

Ok. But can you explain what Medved was going on about?

Well which is it, 2012 or 2008?

You’re switching elections.

Trump lives free in Medved’s mind. I just can’t take Hannity’s screaming and sometimes switch over to his lower-tone.

It won’t be a 49 state victory, but it will be a huge margin. Obama has driven the democratic party over a cliff, and as long as the R’s were going along with it all, you kept the idiotic divided country lie going, Trump blows that whole notion up and will win by a very very large margin.

All the Trump haters on FR were certain about a week ago that he was in decline, but now that he is surging again they can’t handle it and are back in full derangement mode. I feel sorry for them, as they need help.
