We need that kind of “erratic.” Other parts of it may or may not stink, but we never were promised a rose garden that had no thorns.

What you have been promised is that illegals will be deported, all of them. What you apparently don't realize is that the majority will be back, almost immediately, as legal future Democrats. I'd call that a "bad deal."
