Sorry, Brooklyn is the new Manhattan. Try Queens. If this keeps up, I’m hoping that the Bronx will come back.

Let's here it for gentrification, the white version of the reconquista. Expensive way to do it, though.

Nothing keeping them there.

Can always move to Nebraska and farm.

But that would be work, now wouldn’t it?

Time to raise taxes and the minimum wage!
Repeat repeatedly.

Well, as someone who was pushed out of a wonderful NJ town through gentrification (a gorgeous old Victorian town that had turned the old hotels into section 8s), I’m a little bitter. We were pioneers, bringing back our home, fighting off criminals and drug addicts and then the NYTimes noticed us and NYers invaded. (Even though we were NYers.) My taxes doubled, my condo’s maintenance skyrocketed, and we suddenly were running out of money to live. So it’s a two-edge sword.

Today, that little town is run by gay men and lesbians who fight with everyone - their neighbors, the local government and anyone who doesn’t believe that the gay flag needs to fly on the beach.

Sad.

New York is bad and going to get worse when we don’t send money for reconstruction of something or other damaged by ISIS

I was paying $1,000 a month on Ave C and 9th St back in 1991.

My buddy bought a nice one bedroom with outside terrace on 14th between first and second for $65,000 back in 87.

Worth close to a million now.

Must suck to live in New York. I can’t imagine wanting to live in that hellhole.

Paul Harvey once threw in one of his little one-second quips:

"Just think... there are people who live their entire lives in New York City, and then, when they die, go to Hell."

Move to a park bench, and buy a New York Times for comfort and cover.

New York City residents "not getting by"?

These schmucks always vote overwhelmingly democrat.

So, as long as the Obamas, the Cuomos, the deBlasios and other politicians are doing well what does it matter?

Things are bad in New York.

Yeah. Hard to get by in $100,000 per year.

Must suck to live in New York.

That sounds odd coming from somebody who lives in Alaska.

Alaska is a beautiful place. And I have much more freedom there. Try walking in New York with an AR-15 slung from your shoulder. Or even a pistol strapped to your side. At least I can defend myself in Alaska. And now that I'm retired, I can spend winters in my Arizona home.

It’s not much better in L.A. I feel for you, NY. It’s a beautiful city, a showcase for our country. But run by libs, cities (and states) are unsustainable.
