Moscow/Beirut (dpa) - One hundred and sixty Russian citizens fighting for the terrorist group Islamic State in Syria have been killed, a Russian deputy foreign minister said on Thursday, amid stepped-up international military action in the war-torn country.
"At the present time, there are more than 25,000 foreign terrorist militants fighting under the banner of Islamic State, including from Arab countries, Europe, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States [a bloc of post-Soviet republics]," Oleg Syromolotov said, quoted by state news agency TASS.
He added that 2,719 Russian citizens had gone to fight for the Islamist militia in Syria. "One hundred and sixty of them have been killed, 73 of them have returned and faced justice, and another 36 have been arrested."

No. He’s doing this to maximize his control of the Middle East before the dickless ones leave the oval office. our candidates need to understand that — that by the time we win back the white house, this will be a fait accompli.

And we can’t really blame pooty poot for doing this because anyone with half a brain in his position would do the exact same thing given our POTUS’s weakness.
No question that Putin is looking out for his own interests and not doing a charitable operation for the world. Propping up his puppet does help him control the Middle East though.

It was quite obvious to me when Russia’s plane went down and hundreds killed there was little sympathy shown the Russian people for their losses.....there certainly wasn’t a worldwide outpouring of sympathy unlike other nations with such a loss...especially after the news it was ISIS that took those lives...over 200 killed.
Now Russia’s the only country with actual fighting troops on the ground...these soldiers are a loss to Russia...but also to the world for their fighting against these savages.
It just occurs to me Russia gets the raw end of the deal no matter what it does in world affairs......Obama does nothing and the media spends days talking about the nothing he’s doing.
I miss my country.....I miss America as I knew it to be.....

Jesus. Read your post, and think about whether we can tolerate russian domination of the Middle East, and if not, what it’s going to take to undo the damage. The answer is, “a new cold war, and all that entails”.
It’s not about whether we can blame the commie bastard. People need to think past the immediate political issue and their justified contempt for obama, and try to glimpse the big picture.

That’s exactly right......even Putin warned ahead of time he was going after ‘all’ Muslim terrorists no matter which side they were fighting for or against...or where they came from....He would make no distinctions terrorist groups...and he isn’t.
And Britain actually sought, located and bombed some of their “home grown” terrorists who went there to fight....and warned it’s citizens that if you go there you will not be allowed back in.
