For some strange reason many bikers, even those they may not actually beat someone with a ballpeen hammer or shoot you for not getting out of their way, try to dress up like the thug criminals they seem to be wanting to look like. For the most part it is easy to tell the difference, but it makes a rational person wonder, what the hell are they thinking.

Back to who is "imitating" who if the 1% criminal element is dressing like the 99% noncriminal element. I guess rock stars imitate their fans and the Green Bay Packers imitate the Cheeseheads, by that logic.

We have been over the protective clothing aspect of wearing leathers before, and the fact that club patches merely designate which group you belong to, but I would surmise you don't ride and just don't or just don't want to get that. Even Police oriented motorcycle clubs wear leathers and distinctive patches on their backs.

Are there criminal elements among bikers? Didn't I say so above and imply that (1%), if not state as much outright in other posts?

I'm not ignoring that, I am saying that of those arrested and held on 1 million dollars bond, two thirds had no prior criminal record.

Must be real hooligans, huh?

Even the presence of a past criminal record does not mean they were engaged in a criminal act when this went down, especially in a venue and the sort of meeting known for lack of wholesale violent confrontation. (In stockbroker speak, "Past performance is no guarantee of future returns.")

You and I both know, that all those arrested and or charged for involvement in TP, will be given every presumption of innocence by the Court and none will be denied even the slightest possibility of having their Constitutional Rights violated.

Actually, I not only know nothing of the sort, but strongly suspect otherwise. Something about law enforcement being on the grand jury didn't exactly instill faith in that department, nor did the ambush deployment, nor the lack of ballistics data forthcoming, nor the absence of very much video released, and none of which released in a timely fashion, the gag orders, all howls of suppression of Brady Material.

At this point, an admission of error, having already cost people their businesses, homes, jobs, and considerable money, if not pain, suffering, or their life, will be very expensive for the jurisdiction and a career killer for those involved.

There is one hell of a lot of incentive for the people involved to save their asses, no matter who gets screwed in the process.

After all, they're only those nasty criminal outlaw bikers (AS SEEN ON TEEVEE!), right? (/s)

Actually, they are Texans, for the most part (iirc), American citizens, and entitled to the same Constitutional protections any other American citizen is, regardless of how they dress or what they drive.

If they had pulled in in Beemers and wearing Prada, would you defend the actions of Law Enforcement and subsequent treatment by the courts had it been the same?

If this is an example of how Texans treat other Texans, I'll keep my North Dakotan hindparts clear of the State that eats their own. Why, y'all might treat me like a Branch Davidian or something. (Before you go all nuts on that being a Federal operation, Swanton was given a commendation for the assistance rendered to the Feds in the aftermath of massacre).

I am not the one trying to subvert the system to gain unfair advantage for those you seem to identify with.

I am not trying to subvert anything, especially the United States Constitution or the Rule of Law.

No, but you sure seem okay with subverting the system to hang those you don't identify with, regardless of their innocence or guilt.
