One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting outside the Twin Peaks restaurant in Mesquite early Saturday morning.
Investigators said it started as an altercation inside the restaurant at LBJ Freeway at U.S. 80 around 1:15 a.m. The argument continued into the parking lot.
Witness Clayton Collins said he was getting ready to leave the Twin Peaks when he saw an argument and a shoving match... then he heard gunfire.
"We saw a car that was like right in front of where the guy got shot," he said. "Me and my friend are pretty sure that is was the guy that shot the guy that got in the car and peeled away that was right in front of us."
Collins said the car appeared to be a "sporty" black car similar to a Dodge Avenger or Charger.
One victim died at at a hospital; the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office identified him as 35-year-old Ahmand Rashad Williams of Terrell. The other person who was shot was treated for injuries and then released.
"It's crazy for me, man," Collins said. "I've never seen anything like this happen. I was tripping. I'm still tripping, my heart's still racing."
Police described the suspect as a black male with a shaved head who was wearing a red jacket.
A shootout at a Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco last May left nine people dead.
Shaved head, red jacket, sporty black car....Must be a gangsta! (a little /s)
Time to change their menu. Don’t eat the veal!
Food must be good though, as people are willing to die for it. Need to check the place out.
