This is what happens when standards are lowered to create politically correct fire departments.
Firefighting is not a woman’s job. Its arduous, physically demanding and dangerous work.
It involves working with heavy equipment and often being in life-threatening situations.
But for liberals, reality takes a back seat to avoid offending militant activists who want the appearance of equality even that means a fire department can’t fulfill its mission.
Hubby is a retired firefighter. 33 years on the job. Back when they started the push for female firefighters our county hired a whole bunch of them. Within 3 years all but 2 were off on medical leave. They just couldn’t do the job. The 2 that remained actually stayed til they recently retired. One kissed enough ass that she worked her way up to Batt Chief real quick so she didn’t have to actually do the job. The other one was a great firefighter and just retired as Captain of her station for many years.
There could be women who could handle it, but I’m not sure if those hulks are even interested.
