Unfortunately, for Cruz, this is part of relying on support from financial donors, IMO. He has to be careful in leaning forward on issues due to the blowback. Plus, I’m not sure he can handle (not a personal attack, just an observation) the blowback like Trump can. Trump seems to welcome it and returns fire quickly and overwhelmingly. I’m not sure Cruz can do that to that effect, yet. Cruz can certainly dish it out, but it is a different style/level than Trump.
