I actually remember those appalling, outrageous stories!
I sat glued to our TV’s (plural) for days and nights on end.
The little granddaughter we were raising was not yet 2 years old and I was with her 24/7. My husband, -— the late Dr.O -— and I raised her until she was 6 years old (when we moved from San Diego to Mississippi). She continues to spend her vacation time with me.
In fact, she is lying on the couch next to me, right now, having just turned 16! She is spending her High School Thanksgiving Vacation with me and we went through family photos last night, which include some still photos of her in front of screen shots of 9/11 TV!
I guess I took those photos so she would know that she was alive and watching that historic tragedy with me for at least one solid week. She is thrilled to have those photos now.
Her first words were: “GEORGE BUSH” because I always watched the political stuff on Fox News, and she was born on the last day of all ‘odd numbers’ for several hundred years - 11/19/1999.
In two of the photos, (taken later on) she is standing in front of the big TV while GEORGE BUSH is holding that megaphone telling those workers that the whole world will soon hear from us. Great photo!
Enjoy your special granddaughter this week. My son was 4 on 9/11 and when he crawled into bed with his crying mama, I told him he would remember this his whole life, and indeed he has.

I enjoyed the years that had “matching” dates, one each year, in the 0s. 01/01/01, 02/02/02, etc. After 12/12/12 we were done and will be for a long time. Now to get symmetry we have only January as in 1/6/16 but it’s not the same.
I’m just glad we have a candidate out there who dares to remind the world of 9/11.
