Turkey's downing of a Russian fighter plane shouldn't lead to further wartime escalation in the region, President Barack Obama insisted at a press conference Tuesday.
But he maintained Turkey had a right to defend its airspace and charged that Russian air activity near the Turkey-Syria border has been an "ongoing problem."

I have no idea but I sincerely doubt that Russia sirs by silently as armed NATO planes cruise over Russia. You have a problem with borders and self defense?

I heard that the U.S. removed it’s patriot air defense system from Turkey a couple months ago? Why didn’t the SU-24 drop flares and chaff if being followed by F-16’s? They obviously didn’t anticipate such Turkish aggression..
Is Turkey going to shoot down the French jets if they get to close to the border? When the first tactical nuke goes off will they interrupt Obama from his noonday prayers on his knees on a rug in the oval office facing Mecha?
