Actually, stirring-up-of-radical Muslims goes back to the Carter Administration, when we provoked the Russian invasion,

In 1998, Brezinski admitted:

“According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahideen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise: Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention.”

Why don’t you just start a thread on the Pentagon briefings about the war and ping everyone who wants a true unbiased all-American reporting of events?

I’m in DC, as I have explained. Maybe someday Russia will be able to build a trillion dollar boondoggle like the F-35.

Putin is in Syria to defend an ally and to prevent the re-ignition of Muslim extremism in the North Caucasus.

He is there legally. Why is the US there illegally supporting radical jihadis?

“I’m in DC, as I have explained.”

Well, Mother Russia awaits your return! Don’t let the doorknob hit you in the a$$ as you leave! As far as the F35 is concerned good luck, Russia couldn’t build a decent flush toilet during the Cold War.

I heard from a legit source that this was revenge for blowing up the oil truck caravan. A top ranked Turkish politican’s family is involved with ISIS oil smuggling.

I don’t believe your legend. According to what you’ve posted here you’re around 70 years old. No one of that vintage who worked for the Reagan Administration should be out shilling for a Russian regime of any kind. Unless you’re being paid to do it. I suppose I could respect that.

In answer to your last comment; IMHO, Russia is on the conservative side and Putin is on the dictatorial side so far as I see it. So we’re at least half agreed on some of this.

“...and why did he annex Crimea?”

Warm water port. Decades or longer of severe cold is coming, freezing northern Russian ports.

Sputnik (news agency)
Wikipedia
Sputnik is an international multimedia news service launched on 10 November 2014 by Rossiya Segodnya, an agency wholly owned and operated by the Russian government, which was created by a Decree of the President of Russia on December 9, 2013.[2] Sputnik replaces the RIA Novosti news agency on an international stage (which remains active in Russia)[3] and Voice of Russia.

Radio Sputnik is the audio element of the platform and aims to "operate in 30 languages in 2015, for a total of over 800 hours a day, covering over 130 cities and 34 countries on "FM, DAB/DAB+ (Digital Radio Broadcasting), HD Radio, as well as mobile phones and the Internet."[4]

Believe what you want. I’m 65. Reagan ended the Cold War, and I was proud to serve in his Administration. The US, contrary to promises made at the time, has expanded NATO three times to include twelve countries right up to Russia’s border. We would never permit a hostile military alliance to exist on our borders.

The economic and social policies of Russia are the policies of President Putin, who has been elected three times by the Russian people and whose approval rating is 90%.

So what? I posted an op-ed whose credibility based on the facts recited you can judge for yourself.

PBS is a USG sponsored domestic propaganda service, as is VOA/Radio Liberty/RFE abroad.

BBC and Deutsche Welle are propaganda arms of the British and German governments respectively.

Go learn something of the history of Crimea and its ethnic makeup and get back to me. As for the ME, go look at a map. You might see some borders there...and Russia, like almost everyone else, has its own Muslim problems (as does China increasingly).

Putin isn’t a “commie”. The Russians learn a lesson th every hard way. Those “commie” folks that concern you live mainly in EU welfare states and are abundant on our college campuses.
