I really could not care less about how Rubio came to his conclusion.

Only that he’s right on this issue.

I really don’t think that you understand what Russia is up to. If you did, your perspective would change. Rubio apparently does understand it. I find it unfortunate and somewhat baffling why so many here on the forum are so smitten by Putin.

You do know that he is playing you....don’t you.

Putin is not in Syria to kill ISIS. He’s there to save Assad. He also would like to eliminate as many Uyghurs and Russian nationals as he can so that they don’t return to the Russian sphere or to China, their newly minted partners. There are also a number of targeted groups that Assad would like eliminated permanently. But none of this has anything to do with ISIS. He has his own interests in mind.(which is why he is destroying the Turkmen, which is where that plane crashed and why it was shot down by Turkey)

The second reason he is there is the same reason he’s claiming the Arctic and has militarized it, and he is flexing his limited muscles all over the West with intrusions. He has domestic concerns and these activities keep his population somewhat distracted.

Key to any major moves will be the dissolution of NATO.

The end game, as Nathan said, is to bring the former satellite countries of the Soviet era, back into the fold to create the buffer zone he had before. Once he has that he can expand it into the Eurozone.

It appears to me, based on what I see here, that we will let it happen, thinking he is going to kill ISIS as well...but he’s not...he will exploit them, just as Iran is.((his other strategic partner)

Right. The one can’t happen without the other. If you agree with Obama that Assad should be ousted, then — like Obama — you learned nothing from Lybia or the “Arab Spring” in Egypt. I’m signing off from you now. You’re like the definition of insanity — trying the same thing (overthrowing secular dictators in the Middle East) and expecting a different result.

GO PUTIN.

I am fine with Assad right where he is.

Unfortunately, I have been forced to come to the realization that if America is for something, I’m against that thing.

If America is against a thing, then I am for that thing.

My country has become a liar. My country has become one of the bad guys.

I don’t want my country doing a damned thing anywhere until it gets its sh!t together. And that will take a damn long time if it ever happens at all.

In my country, America, I cannot even trust the weather report. Even it is filled with lies.

That’s where we are. Nowhere.

Why do ppl on our side persist in repeating Obama’s talking point? Putin is only there to save Assad. So what? Saving Assad involves destroying ISIS as well
