COP 21: 2015 likely to be warmest on record, says UN weather body (Yeah, right)

Global average temperatures in 2015 are likely to be the warmest on record, according to the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).

Data until the end of October showed this year's temperatures running "well above" any previous 12 month period.

The researchers say the five year period from 2011 to 2015 was also the warmest on record.

The rise, they state, was due to a combination of a strong El Nino and human-induced global warming.

The WMO said their preliminary estimate, based on data from January to October, showed that the global average surface temperature for 2015 was 0.73 degrees C above the 1961-1990 average.

Their scientists also found that global temperatures were approximately 1 degree C above the 1880-1899 period, mirroring a recent finding by the UK Met Office. 'Bad news'

The record-breaking five year period from 2011 to 2015 was 0.57C above the average for 1961-1990.

Right before the climate conference next week.

How many times must we listen to Chicken Little 'The Sky is Falling?'?

Exactly, and they need to be told for the millionth time, so what if it is (it has been warm before in the past), it does not mean it was man-made.

We had the mildest year on record in the past twenty years here in northern Arizona. It’s been a pretty cold fall so far though. All weather is local.

Well, the Middle East is going to Hell, and I was shoveling snow this morning. I reckon Hell is hotter than North Dakota is cold, so the average is warming up.

The WMO said their preliminary estimate, based on data from January to October...

Who's data? Where did it come from, and what "adjustments" have been made to the data? I hope everyone realizes that in the climate scam data isn't just data. Temperature readings, particularly historical readings, have to be "adjusted" and "scaled" and "corrected" for all kinds of things like accuracy and precision of measurement instruments, land use, population, measurement bias... The dirty little secret in the climate scam is that the net effect of these "adjustments" to the data are often far bigger (sometimes an order of magnitude bigger) than the trends discovered in the data by their so-called research. Therefore, by applying the scaling factors and biases you want (those that suit and support your conclusions) you can get the data to show pretty much anything you want from a coming melt-down to the next ice age.

...the global average surface temperature for 2015 was 0.73 degrees C above the 1961-1990 average ...

...also found that global temperatures were approximately 1 degree C above the 1880-1899 period...

Anyone care to take a guess as to why the so-called "scientists" picked those two time periods as a basis for comparison to present-day? Anyone? If you said "because they are two of the coolest periods in measured history" ding ding ding, give yourself a prize. Sure, you can make now look hot if you compare it to a couple of unusually cool time periods. SMDH... Liars. Plain and simple scam artists trussed up in lab coats calling themselves scientists and researchers trying to put on a patina of respectability.

Here in lower Michigan it seems like the last three years has been the beginning of a new ice age, summers too.

Record cold length and record snow.

Looking outside now you would think you are in Siberia or something, it would be different it was the middle of January but instead it isn't even Thanksgiving yet.

Must be why I only used my air conditioner 9 days over the summer.

I always notice the same two things. One, they never have a definitive answer on how to stop it. Two, the MSM never asks that question.

It would only be logical since:

1) Coming out of a little ice age-it gets warmer

2) We are experiencing one of the strongest El Ninos on record

3) Warming a large body of water to above normal temps warms the planet

4) The "record" is only 100-140 years old...so not much of a data set....and

5) It will get colder after this El Nino subsides next spring.

German Professor: NASA Has Fiddled Climate Data On *Unbelievable* Scale

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/11/24/german-professor-nasa-fiddled-climate-data-unbelievable-scale/

From the publicly available data, Ewert made an unbelievable discovery: Between the years 2010 and 2012 the data measured since 1881 were altered so that they showed a significant warming, especially after 1950. A comparison of the data from 2010 with the data of 2012 shows that NASA-GISS had altered its own datasets so that especially after WWII a clear warming appears, although it never existed.

One additional point to consider:

Global temperature is best measured by satellites. Really, how on earth do we know the ‘global’ temperature in 1890? Do we really have reliable temperature readings from the middle of the oceans, the heart of Africa, Antarctica, etc?

The temperature ‘record’ prior to the 1970s (satellite age) is practically useless, when doing comparisons that get down to fractions of degrees.

We were in Sedona the week after Christmas in 2014. Took golf clubs and bikes. Should have taken sleds and ski jackets. Snow on the red rocks was beautiful but totally unexpected. Going back this year but will be better prepared, just in case.
