This is nothing new. The Bushes carry the Saudis' water, and are always quick to defend "the religion of peace" from any criticism or blame.
Two things that will never meet.
It seems Bush goes out of his way to scold the GOP party members - like he needs to keep them in line. Am I wrong in feeling this way?
Bush is a creature of the GOPe, which will always attack anyone who threatens their beloved Big Government and their lucrative alliance with the Saudis and their associated Sunni oil states. To the government class, the Status Quo is their God and their Provider, and they will do all in their power to protect and maintain it. We who love the Constitution are their enemies, and the objects of their paternalistic scolding.
