Is Turkey Lying: Rescued Russian Pilot Says There Was No Warning Before F-16 Opened Fire
Zero Hedge ^ | 25 Nov 2015 | Tyler

The conflicting stories over yesterday's dramatic downing of a Russian jet on the Syria-Turkish border continue to grow, and after the ongoing confusion whether the Russian pilot did or did not enter Turkish territory for a grand total of 17 seconds, moments ago Konstantin Murahtin, the co-pilot from the downed Russian jet who survived the ground fire by US-armed rebels unlike his pilot, and who was rescued by the Syrian army, said that contrary to official reports that Turkey had somehow warned the Russian jet "10 times" (in 17 seconds?) that it would fire, Turkey had in fact given no warning whatsoever before downing the Russian jet.

If you were a pilot who worked for Putin, you would say exactly what you were briefed to say.

"They had now warning?! Doesn’t say much about their air defensive systems.<

I'd be willing to bet the Turks have been lighting up every Russian aircraft that gets within twenty miles of the border ever since the Russians started flying these missions. That serves two purposes, 1) warns the Russians they're close the border and 2) lulls the pilots into not thinking about the warning after a while.

17 seconds . . . that's not enough time to warn an aircraft and have the aircraft react, PERIOD. Therefore this was preplanned by the Turks. They were waiting for someone to make a minor mistake or even to get within ten miles of the border since they claim a "buffer zone" ten miles deep within Syria.

"moozlums lie...russians lie. Who cares? What difference does it make?"

Keep that thought in mind when Muzzies are gunning people down and/or beheading people right here in the US.

Whatever the truth of that aspect. Turkey flies protective cover for Jihadi rebels. That Suhkoi was bombing jihadis and nothing else, Turkey attacked it.

NATO asked Turkey why they didn't escort them out...

Cuz they knew that in half a second, they'd be out of Turkey. It's not like you can change course on a dime.

Exactly. Turkey, irregardless of the NATO membership, is the enemy here. They are aiding isis. They have bombed our real allies, the Kurds. They are buying isis oil and supplying them with cash and weapons. WE should be bombing the bastards!

I have to believe that Turkey, Syria, Russia, and the US all have a RADAR track for this plane.

Everybody knows the truth...yet nobody knows the truth.

Yes, Turkey is lying. Yes, Russia is ALSO lying. They are both reprehensible governments who are not friends of the US. Anyone who picks one over the other is a fool. Both are evil; let them kill each other.

All true. But there is a piece of equipment — a radar warning receiver — present on all combat aircraft. If the Turks were truly interested in knowing if the Russians were ignoring all they had to do was have their patrolling F-16’s paint them with their Radar. THAT would have gotten them to take evasive action in the direction of Syrian airspace.

I suspect that this was an Aerial ambush, pure & simple.

General Mcinerny was on Fox yesterday...he has experience and credibility in this arena, as he was responsible for airspace near Russia/Alaska during one of his commands.

He said that the Russians strayed into our airspace many times...and obviously we never shot one down. He mentioned some factors that aren’t being mentioned in the public debate about this. First, it was very important to him that the plane’s heading made it obvious that it was not directed towards a target in Turkey...but instead merely scraping in and out of their airspace. Also, he implied this was a planned/lie in wait affair. It happened so quick, the Turkish pilot had to have been patrolling this finger of airspace, with orders to shoot, no permission needed. Way outside of how nations (that are not at war with each other) traditionally interact in these types of situations.

I too remember KAL 007...seems many (some here) don’t.

This morning on Varney (FOX Business)Gen. MacInernie (spelling?)predicted a Turkish F-16 will be shot down in the next several months. The Gen. also said the Turkish downing of the Russian jet was a planned event and wrong.

On the same show Andrea Tanteras said Turkey should be kicked out of Nato.

Thanks for posting that. I had read about what he had to say, but didn’t think to include it.

While I agree with most of what you have said, I’m not sure I would use the term ‘allies’ when referring to the Kurds.

Maybe in an enemy of my enemy is my friend sort of way, but it would stop there. I’m not even opposed to arming them, if they happen to be fighting for their own lives against ISIS...but I wouldn’t count them as ‘friends’. The Kurds are using the west, and we are using them - but at the end of the day, we are the infidel to them.

I do not know if the aircraft violated Turkish Airspace. I do know the pilot of the Turkish Aircraft had orders to shoot the Russian Aircraft if it violated Turkish Air Space. There is absolutely no way he could have received authorization to fire in the 15 to 20 seconds the Russian aircraft “may” have been over Turkish airspace.

The real question is why the pilot of the Turkish aircraft had the orders he was given.
