“Defensive actions against Syrians doesnât give them the right to chase the Russians back across the border.”
Nonsense. It is a war zone. Russia previously shot dow a Turkish F-4 Phantom. Russia has been busy since before October last flying well into Turkish airspace with their identifying transponders turned off, not responding to air traffic control and defense radio communications warnings, and with their weapons targeting systems turned on and locked-on to Turkish air defense fighters while they were located far inside Turkey as an imminent threat contrary to international laws. If that doesn’t qualify the unidentified Russian aircraft as targets in your opinion, nothing ever will.
My time in war zones and pseudo war zones, includes tracking Russian, Chinese, N. Korean, Iranian, and Iraqi airborne assets, among others.
I understand the concept of targets versus tracks.
I believe Turkey acted foolishly. You apparently do not.
We can disagree - it happens.
