Now most of this is from people cutting out cable, I would suspect.

But perhaps some of this lost revenue is due to the notorious liberal bias being spewed out by ESPN, the love affair its "personalities" have with Obama, and the ridiculous "brave" award it gave to Bruce Jenner.

I think Disney also made American workers train cheaper foreign replacements before firing the Americans, too. Bad form, Disney.

And didn’t ESPN suspend Curt Schilling for not agreeing with Obama?

I don’t watch ESPN. Their girlymen are too feminine acting for me. As an American male, they embarrass the hell out of me.

REVEALED: Caitlyn Jenner’s reps ‘demanded ESPYs award in exchange for PR plugs and Diane Sawyer interview’

Caitlyn Jenner’s representatives asked ESPN that she be the recipient of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs

They offered PR plugs on Jenner’s upcoming reality show ‘I am Cait’
ESPN executives loved the idea

Talks hit a stumbling block and Jenner’s team threatened to pull out of the 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC

ESPN and ABC are both owned by Disney

The problems were resolved and ABC landed one of the biggest stories of the year

taking around $216 million away from Disney's coffers.

Chump change for Disney.

It's really just a matter of simple business realities at work. In order to pay for the exorbitant contracts ESPN has signed to televise various sporting events, they are raising the rates they charge cable companies to carry the channel ... which means they are driving away customers who don't want to pay extra $ for what ESPN offers. It looks like they've made a bet that the extra revenue from the higher rates will more than offset the losses from customers who drop them.

It looks like they've lost that bet.

I still don’t get the fact that Disney is a leader in this crazy crazy thinking. My ex-sister-in-law (a lesbian) worked for Disney years ago and was bitterly angry about the not completely unspoken position that Disney had against gays and lesbians. She felt she could be promoted no further as scrutiny about her lifestyle would be a huge stop sign for the rest of the Disney administration.

Disney was one of the leaders of the American way, apple pie, importance of family, proudly USA .......It has now remade itself into the one of the most despicable US companies. The 180 degree turn is almost complete.

You can cut the cord and still get ESPN through Sling TV, a Dish network subsidiary that offers a streaming feed of 20 core cable channels for $20/mo. You get ESPN and ESPN2 as well as CNN, TBS, TNT and Disney among the channels. More sports can be added with an additional $5 month package.

Over the air channels can be pulled in by local antenna.

Yes, you’re still feeding the beast but you’re putting them on a diet.

As for the data caps, alternative fiber networks (such as Google Fiber) are being built so they could cap where there’s no competition but they would be shooting themselves in the foot if they do it where unlimited competition exists.

ESPN has allowed politics and political correctness in the broadcast booth. They deserve to lose subscribers. I despise ESPN.

Professional sports are a childish distraction. How a feminized childish distraction supposedly programmed for men ever made money other than the fact we were all forced to pay for that stupidity is beyond me. In a sane world there never would have been an ESPN.

Call your friend over and toss around a football. Pick up a rifle and take a walk in the woods. Build a cabinet. Practice your wild crafting. Go to the town meeting or Freep. There are far too many enjoyable past times that make for a better person and country.

Good riddance ESPN, Im proud to say that I never voluntarily watched.

That’s my exact intentions as soon as I can figure out the best internet connection excluding cable. Cable internet is the best, IMHO.

My basic cable does include HBO. However, my over-the-air digital TV selection FAR outweighs my cable selection.

FYI - Internet ONLY costs more (Comcast) than internet and TV.

I never watch ESPN but it was on in a waiting room Tuesday and I had to.

There was a beige guy on and he was an absolute fool and carried on and on and on with absolutely inane commentary

The fact he was on shows the decline of America
