Are they included in your basic package? If so, they still get paid whether you watch or not. ESPN gets a subscriber from the cable company.

ESPN is not included in any basic cable package. You have pay at least for second tier, which means you are also forced to buy CNN, MSNBC, MTV and Weather Channel. In other words, the Pravda tier.

ESPN is not available on my bare bones package. All I get are local channels and a few others. No sports, no CNN, FOX or any other talking heads stations. I'm a happier person without that junk.
