Sounds like a nice project with a nice outcome. I became pretty proficient in optimizing MKII Ruger pistols in the 1999-2001 time frame. All of them are worthy competitors for indoor pistol matches. This year has been focused on building AR rifles/pistols. I've had just one incident where an Anderson BCG came with a bolt that didn't pass the go/field/no-go head-space checks with a Bear Creek barrel. I ordered a Bear Creek bolt and it passed perfectly. Standardization and commodity parts are a good thing.
