Sad truth about PV solar cells: Any PV solar panel that is in line of sight of a nuclear EMP explosion will instantly and totally be destroyed due to the voltage it will induce across the semiconductor junction.
I'll take those chances....about the same chances as a dinosaur stepping on my car.
