I’m a bit late to the Trump vs Cheering Muslims party but from what little I know, early on in this flap, I thought I read somewhere that he never said “thousands of Muslims in NJ cheered”.
He may have said “Muslims in NJ cheered” or...
“Thousands of Muslims cheered” or..
“Thousands of Muslims over the world cheered” or even.
“Thousands in New Jersey cheered”
But as far as I understand he never said “Thousands of Muslms in New Jersey” (cheered).
Did he? Did he ever use the exact phrase “thousands of Muslims in New Jersey cheered”?
While I hate to quote the NY Times, Here it is:
“Donald J. Trump said Saturday that he would order surveillance of “certain mosques†to combat terrorism after the Paris attacks and claimed to have watched as “thousands and thousands of people were cheering†while the World Trade Center towers fell on Sept. 11, 2001.”
Yes, that is an exact quote.
