Rabia Chaudry kept her 7-year-old daughter home from her private Islamic school in Maryland on Thursday, fearing anti-Muslim backlash from Wednesday’s massacre nearly 3,000 miles away in San Bernardino, Calif.
“I think we are all feeling exhausted and very vulnerable,†said Chaudry, a lawyer and national security fellow at the New America Foundation. “I’m angry at those people who did this attack. And I’m angry at how this is being politicized. Everything boils down to, ‘We should fear Muslims. And they shouldn’t be here.’ â€
American Muslims say they are living through an intensely painful moment and feel growing anti-Muslim sentiment after the recent Islamic State attacks in Paris and this week’s San Bernardino shootings, carried out by a Muslim husband and wife.
The motivations of the California killers are still unclear, although authorities are investigating it as a potential act of terrorism. Muslims said they are bracing for an even more toxic climate in which Americans are increasingly suspicious of Muslims.

If anyone, anywhere, for any reason, does not feel welcome or is uncomfortable dwelling in the country they are in, then it’s time to move.
There are many muslim countries in the world - for the life of me I don’t know of any logical reason as to why they would not prefer to live there, seeing as they love their religion so much.

If Muslims feel so “put upon” by the backlash resulting from ISLAMIC terrorism... then just maybe they ought to TAKE ACTION - real, verifiable, and meaningful action to fight terrorism! Duh....
Lets see - how many mass marches have we seen against terrorism organized or participated in by huge numbers of Muslims who are crying out for ISLAMIC terrorism to stop?
How many believable condemnations of ALL terrorism have we seen come from Islamic leaders?
What steps are those of the Muslim population taking to stop/prevent/war against terrorism?

The media did complain but we were a different country then.
By the 1970s/1980s, our schools began teaching in earnest, that the attack on Japan was wrong. Same thing they’re doing now, just sooner. And we won’t win on that front until we fight it and we aren’t fighting it.
And our politicians, and many brain-dead citizens don’t get that, even though the muslims freely admit it, and it’s in their “holy” book.
All this time I thought it was Middle Eastern adulterers and gays that were feeling intense back lashing.
No sympathy. Muslims can renounce their religion and Sharia law if they’d like to join the rest of the civilized world and be respected in the US.
They’re closer to their black box at Mecca over there also. No Muzzie in his right mind should want to live in this evil, racist country. They all need to go home.

Exactly what is the “intense backlash?” Have people hurt their feelings, said mean things about their false prophet, complained about being targeted for jihad murder?
All I want is an assurance that American muslims won’t get sudden jihad syndrome. ...and maybe that they will renounce all violence, including the idea that anyone who renounces islam is marked for death.

CHRISTIANS in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Iran....THOSE folks are suffering a BACKLASH....not the Muslims in America.
True. We let the left take over the educating of our kids. I don’t know exactly how it happened (because of unions, likely), but most kids are sent off to be indoctrinated for upward of 12 years. I home-schooled, and that was years ago, before it became popular.
I would gladly pitch in.
Actually, if they’re so worried about backlash, they’d best take it up with the cause of the problem....and that would be none other than their muslim brothers, the jihadists.
How long do they think the rest of the world will be subject to slaughter and NOT start to react?
