I was referring only to the region of Paris- Ile de France, the richest most populated region in France.
The FN is far from irrelevant as a political force in France. Their high scores in many regions of France show they are a force to be reckoned with.
IMO France needs a wartime president in 2017. Someone with vast, deep, experience in governance, mleadership, management, and finance. It is not an entry level position.
With Alain Juppé out of the picture, and no new leader with the proper combination of intelligence, experience, and temperament on the horizon, Nicolas Sarkozy, with his sharp intellect, charisma, and vast experience at every level of government from Mayor of Neuilly in his 20’s to Minister of the Interior, Minister of Finance, and Minister of the Budget, is the only credible person on the right. He is already acknowledged as an experienced, respected, international negotiator and leader.
If France is to survive and flourish, mother entire monarchical welfare state system must be reshape do and brought into the 21st century,
MLP does not have the intellect, the temperament, or the experience to be a world class leader. IMO she is a one-trick pony, and her family, with their soap opera sagas played out in public, their bickering, and generally disgusting behavior are an embarrassment.
Mme le Pen is not any kind of conservative- she is a Statist, and a national socialist, one who does not have the will to dismember the mega welfare state that is bankrupting France. She is not an economic conservative who believes in the free enterprise system. She is vupirulently anti-American and does not support Israel.
France needs true leadership, not sloganeering and demagoguery.
The presidential elections in France are 17 months away. A lot can happen in that time.

I think I get it. Sarkozy is Ted Cruz, Mme le Pen is the Donald.

Cincinna: I understand your concerns over Le Pen. But I want to ask you this: while she may be a statist and socialist within France, how will that party play out internationally? Will the party work to fight international jihad or will it just be for itself and everybody else can go to hell? Will it continue to be anti-American? or will the party be forced out of its cocoon?

It is good to remind the freepers that FN and Le Pen received a big financial injection from Putin. I believe it was around 8 or 9 million euro as a “loan” from one of the Russian banks closely connected to Vlad. Me thinks it was within the last year.
