LE BOURGET, France (AP) -- Talks on a universal climate pact shifted to a higher gear Monday, with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urging governments to set off an "energy revolution" to rein in heat-trapping carbon emissions and avert disastrous global warming.
The European Union appeared to be softening its position on its demand that emissions targets in an eventual Paris climate accord need to be legally binding. And U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said that even if it's not legally binding, a deal could still change the way world business thinks about energy.

Do these morons even realize the planet would be uninhabitable without heat trapping gases ? No one ever tell them the world Oceans trap most of the heat.

It has never been clear to me how extreme self-abnegation reverses the “damage” one whit.
The only “solution” that seems to make sense to these big thinkers is to reduce the human population of the planet to some small percentage of its current level.
That is so wrong, on so many levels.
The Disaster is that EVERY COUNTRY is Running out of Money, and in Debt up to their eyeballs, and they have also enslaved their children in perpetual debt. THEY NEED THE MONEY!!
I sort of figure the ONLY climate change WE have to worry about is the number of JOKERS that get to put their hand on the ‘button’.
Of course all climate change in this effect isn’t completely wrong.
Look at pictures of Hiroshima in 1946 and today.
Look at pictures of Detroit in 1964 and today.
Tell me who the worse LONG RANGE threat is-

The upshot is that the Chinese don’t feel bound to honor any deal they reach with smelly, hairy barbarians.

I’d say let’s postpone any deals or requirements on this until we have scientific consensus and a 10 year track record of China and others abiding by the standards we already are held to.
