They do like to pick on women.

I am about to do a post on Rotherham. Watch out for it, I am going to work on it right now.

Get off your high horse! What have you accomplished to think you can cut down a proven producer with your slams and ill conceived attacks? I know what i want in a leader and Trump has the Constitution clearly allowing him, when he becomes president, to do exactly what he proposes. He WILL stop the destruction of this country by the stupid people who have never heard of the Trojan Horse and continue to play PC with innocent people’s lives.
You are without ANY support in law as the Constitution is very clear and in fact President Carter has already set the precedent as HE closed the borders to Iranians during the Iranian Hostage Crisis.
I am far too intelligent to support a despot. It appears you are a blown up bag of hot air trying to win an argument by bullying. Sorry, it won’t work with me. Time somebody sticks a pin in you. POOF!!!

A Constitutionalist who has no chance of being elected can do nothing for the country until he has achieved some positiv standing. Cruz could be a very strong leader if and when he has had time to get seasoned more. I would like to see Trump captain the ship while we are on the rocks and get us turned around and back in blue water. in the meantime, which will take years, we need to repair the damage done to the Constitution and more importantly for our economic health, we need to get the the alphabet “rulers” OUT of our government and return governing back to State Rule. Cruz, I believe can plan that recovery and guide the ins and outs necessary to do some much needed repair work. Cruz, however, is NOT an economist, a wheeler dealer, negotiator, or savvy enough in psychology(Trump knows how to read people) to accomplish the immediate greatest need which is to get our economy back in-house and working FOR us instead of AGAINST us. The needs of the hour are to get us economically strong again. That is Trump’s strength. Cruz’s strength can follow IF he has a country left to work with. We are hanging on by our fingernails. Cruz can’t save us. Trump can. AND Trump can be elected.

I think he’s definitely headed that way. After all he’s already crossed the moat, stormed the gates and smashed the portcullis. He is in the inner court and about to take the catle and the Establishment are flying in all directions trying to save themselves! He has NOW FORCED ALL of his opponents except Cruz to side with Obama. I call it absolute genius the way he drew them all into the trap. An absolute slaughter and reminds me of Dan Morgan defeating Tarleton at the battle of Cowpens in the Revolution. I’m tellin’ ya gang, the war is OVER! Trump has everybody exactly where he wants them.

A Constitutionalist who has no chance of being elected

Your opinion, many disagree. Many also disagree that Trump can be elected. At this time both are merely opinions; however, high negatives are a reasonably reliable sign of a candidate in trouble. Trump clearly has a significant number of folks who like him, even like him a lot. And some of those may well be voters other GOP candidates, at least currently, can't get. Thus, at least in part, the belief amongst his many fans that he's the only one who can beat Hillary. However Trump also has high negatives, including many normally reliable GOP voters who aren't sure whether they can bring themselves to vote for Trump in the general, but who would vote for any other GOP candidate in the general out of sheer habit. The "can't we all get along" kind of independents may also have problems voting for Trump's style. Whether Trumps unique positives would beat his unique negatives is hard to say, but can't be ignored. When Hillary's negatives are also high, when her positives are low even in her own party, when Obama has made everything a mess, a generic Republican is going to do well if they can just get our base to vote. We may not need Trump's positives to win, and we may not be able to afford his negatives.

Cruz, however, is NOT an economist

He was reading Friedman, Hayek, Adam Smith, von Mises, and other noted conservative economists in high school. He had a laudable record promoting free market economics while working at the FCC under Bush 43. His released plans to shrink the government and reform the tax code have been highly rated by conservative groups for their beneficial effects on the economy. I think he knows precisely what needs to be done.

The Founding Fathers would have been horrified at "wheeler dealer" being used as a presidential qualification. The proper role of the federal government is to provide and maintain the rule of law, and a level playing field, evenly for everyone, not to provide favors for one over another. Doing otherwise is a large part of how we got into our current problems. Businesses should be free to wheel and deal, within legal limits, amongst others outside of government, but shouldn't be doing that with our government. Negotiating skills are legitimate for negotiating with other countries, but I don't hear Trump running for just Hillary's old job. He'd be a big upgrade there, loads of folks need firing.

I am afraid that it will be another case of the high minded voters leading us to defeat because all they see are the negatives and can’t see the positives. I don’t like Cruz’s cavalier treatment of Trade deals and also do not see him strong enough on immigration. He’s too moderate for my taste which appeals to some but not to others. We all read the top economists in our studies at least if we were academic students. University carried us farther if we chose to pursue it. Cruz has a lawyers mind. He does not have foresight and instinctive knowledge. He is also too “dry” and needs sweetening up a bit. America has always loved a winner and Trump gives every indication that he is the one. He also has something that Cruz will never have. He has an aura. People are drawn to him. That is something that is not acquired. you have it or you don’t. Reagan had it. Bill Clinton (unfortunately) had it.
I like Cruz...in the future. He is not ready to take on the load. Not yet.
But perhaps you’ll be right. Who knows at this point. I can only listen to my instinct and analysis.

How about this? I was in the audience when this occurred. Admittedly it was his best use of humor, but it was far from his only use. He can do much better than his usual CSPAN demeanor, although I agree he needs to show his lighter side in more than just his retail politics venues. It is important to show that a candidate can look Presidential (something Obama and Hillary have yet to show), the candidates need to also show their human side and connect with voters on personal levels. Cruz does 'Presidential' fairly well, but could show more of his 'Green Eggs and Ham' side. He's a huge Star Wars fan, maybe some riffs off the new movie after its out.

A lot.

I just watched Trump totally botch an interview on O'Reilly. He could not handle questions about his proposed temporary halt on all Muslims. He was incapable of making distinctions about traveling professionals with visas versus refugees. He knew nothing about the bill that passed today that addresses this very question. It was a pathetic display of stuttering blather and platitudes.

I am far too intelligent to support a despot.

Really? Please give one example quote in which Trump makes a promise as to what he will do that includes him specifically mentioning working through the Congress to obtain necessary enabling legislation.

I still say he is not ready. I’ve also been in the audience and supported him for a long time. I came to realize, however, Trump is the one we need because of a great number of reasons I’ve expressed over and over again. I hope people wise up and see the only one who can win is Trump. It is his time, Cruz’s time is afterwards.

Try Get this through your head. There are hundreds of laws ALREADY on the books that simply need to be enforced! That includes USC 8 1182. Look it up and TRY to understand what it says.

Some things need immediate action and the means are there to implement those acts. A Congress which is about as useful as it was under Boehner and a Senate still under McConnell only operate for the good of Obama. Why don’t you scream at them? Some people would cut off their head to spite their face. Are you among them?

You can keep Trump's hype and I'll pass on the small change. If this is Trump's time I won't last until afterwards. There are a hell of a lot of more things screwed up in this country than immigration and security that Trump doesn't give a damn about and won't do a damn thing to fix. The regulatory state is strangling small business, which as a solo doc I am. Big business can afford the compliance costs and likes them, because they hit their otherwise more efficient competition harder. Small business is what has produced most of the jobs in the country and is what has made America great. It's on life support under Obama and Trump hardly notices.

GOPe is the party of big business and big government — Trump's customers are all there. They golf his courses, bet at his casinos, hold conventions at his hotels You don't get rid of crony capitalism by electing a better crony! He won't hurt them much, it would hurt his brand! He'll just make some deals so both get a piece of the action. Like Trump wants to leave their Big Corn and ethanol boondoggle alone.

Cruz is a small business kind of guy, not a crony. He won't make huge deals, he'll restore the American deal which empowered the hard working individual and made America great the first time. He's going to win Iowa in spite of being against Big Corn, which scares the pork out of the GOPe. He'll tear out this crony capitalism crap by the roots and thus remove what powers the GOPe. He is the most ready candidate of my life and I recall Goldwater beer. And on Trump's most hyped issues: illegal immigration, building a wall, and Muslim refugees and immigration he has better plans than Trump.

So you go your way and I’ll go mine. Obviously you have not heard Trump’s many references to the small business overburden of regulations and multiple government agencies which need to be cut. One man can not do it all, but Trump can make a helluva good start in righting our economy. AND he is not for “Trade” that leaves us beggars instead of choosers.
I grew up in small business and spent most of my life in small business. You’re singing to the choir and I see Trump as a big asset, not as a detriment to small business. You should talk to my Doctor with whom I discuss politics whenever I see him. He is 100% of my conviction. No time for the family because he spends the weekends doing paperwork just like I spent many a weekend and many a night until dawn filling out paperwork to meet some damn deadline.

Never have been “saved” by anybody. I am totally independent and make my own decisions. Your silly bully tactics don’t go anywhere with me. Calling me names and slinging insults seems to be your only method of communication. This “conversation” is finished!
