Coincidently, I attended a meeting this evening of Americans here in Germany and one of the subjects of discussion was the growing anti-Americanism coupled with a growing strain of anti-Semitism. There is a conspiracy theory afoot here presently gaining currency to the effect that Jews run Wall Street and the American government and the American government is the root of all evil around the world. VladimirPutin and Russia are in the right.
What you have is old Soviet communism leavened with a bit of anti-Semitism and a blind eye toward the real dangers of Islam. Equally threatening, you see the beginnings of the breakup of the NATO alliance and a real realignment on a global basis tending toward isolating America.
