To put a more exact point on my first post, if we determine a particular ideology presents such a threat to our national security as to warrant use of our armed forces, we should be prepared to remain on site so long as it takes to replace that ideology. We should leave other squabbles to the UN.
That was my point - we never tried to replace that ideology. It wasn’t a matter of time, we never started.
