Unfortunately even a win might leave in place the “top 10% per school” rule. Which is backdoor affirmative action.

Affirmative Action is Stolen Valor without the uniform and medals.

Is anyone here even looking at the details of this case?

With all the talk here about college students behaving like little snowflakes, this student sure fits the profile:

- She didn’t quite make the top 10% of her class.
- Her SAT score was a little bit above average: 1180 out of 1600.

So, she was never guaranteed admission based on those scores. She ended up at a different university, so what’s the big deal?

I have a son who scored high enough for an Ivy League university. He was rejected. There’s no guarantee that you’ll be admitted to a college (unless it’s a community college).

Affirmative action is nothing more than government sponsored racism. Always has been. Entry into anything should not be based on race or gender. I can see how some credit is given to vets from the military, police depts, and fireman who have been injured or disabled while in the process of protecting the country or community.

"A ruling against the university could imperil affirmative action at colleges and universities around the nation."

What about in the workplace?

This is the court that abolished marriage. Expect the worst.

I was apparently remembering a pair of 2003 decisions.
