Trump’s schtick fascinates me, not in a good way. We all know that he didn’t reach his level of success and rub shoulders with the high and mighty by calling people “dummies” and telling everyone how great he is.
I think he may just be pandering to the fed-up base, many of whom don’t understand big words or watch debates.
You’ve seen Jesse Watters’ interviews? Those folks could understand Trump.
What if he were to go to the convention, then shed the primary season persona and morph into the Wharton School sophisticate that he claims to be? Big words, etc.
Don't go there Catherine, each of the major candidates have their own "fan boys/girls" and it does no good to criticize any of them simply because they support whomever........
I happen to be a disgusting "Fan Boy" of each of the top three candidates. Even tho I have my favorite who I will vote for in the primary, I will also throw my vote for whomever gets the nomination...........
The FR presidential cyclical purge will likely begin in February or March......so feel free to voice your opinions now since they may not be accepted next year.......
This professional trolling. Well done.
“You’d think Trump was given how his supporters regularly ignore his flip-flop on many important issues and thinks he walks on water.
“...thinks he [Trump] walks on water”?
You must have never followed a pro-Cruz thread.
They post full-body photos, etc.
“But I HAVE seen fanboys and -girls of one particular candidate keening in ecstasy about the “Trump of God”, writing songs to him, etc.”
You are either lying or hanging out on some weird sites. Probably lying.
“Just like Limbaugh said, Cruz is too conservative for some Republicans.
Heâs poison to those types.”
You mean as in voting for TPA, voting for the Corker bill, calling for a five-fold increase in H-1B visas, saying he disagrees with Trump in banning Muslim terrorists from coming into the country?
Check out post #14.
Half-baked? Nice condescension there.
Fine if you guys want to support Cruz; I think he has too much political baggage to be presented as the uber-conservative. My litmus test used to be a comprehensive list of conservative issues. No longer.
Every conservative I’ve supported in the past has either gone on to abandon their their former principles or was forced out (Cain). It’s embarrassing that I used to support people like Ryan and Rubio. I’ve supported Kemp, Keyes, Kasich, Santorum, and a host of others.
In this election, I don’t think Cruz has the magic sauce to make it happen, just as these other guys have not either.
Actually, just yesterday on this very site, I saw a post from a Trump supporter that said "No weapon formed against Trump shall prosper."
Okay, post #14 is a little more severe.
Yeah, uh-huh.
Don’t bother playing the victim, birther troll.
I think you’re correct in your assessment that Trump is pandering.
Cruz has sold himself to the top 2 or 3 in most polls and to a strong and growing ground game and powerhouse endorsements in Iowa.
So the media is purposely promoting a person they are slandering 24/7, whom as a result becomes more popular and leading Hillary, because that person is easier to beat.
Seriously there is no logic in any of this.
These people are not that smart nor coordinated.
More like Trump has cleared out his competitors. He sure hasn’t.
She lies a lot. It is pathological.
I've seen nothing like the cult of personality that's been built up around Trump, nor have I seen such unbridled emotion attached to a political candidate. Not only that, but one with a liberal past, and one who makes a slip that reveals his core liberalism on the average of once a week.
The other day one of his fans shrieked, "Trump is my happiness and you will not take my happiness away from me!" Now there is something seriously wrong with that kind of thing, and it makes you wonder why and how people have taken leave of their senses.
Over Donald Trump , of all people. If you go back four years and look at Trump threads from that period, you'll see that many of the people who are in the deepest throes of hysterical fandom had his number back then.
If that kind of behavior doesn't apply to you, and I don't believe it does, I wasn't describing you. But when Trump fans swarm Cruz threads, don't expect me to be all demure and sweet. It isn't going to happen.
And yeah, I'm not under any illusions. If it comes to the point where I'm not welcome because I won't support Trump, so be it.
Um no.
Cruz sat on the side, and let the other candidates go after Trump. Each of them from Carly, Bush, Walker, Carson, Perry, to the rest of the kiddie table got their butts kicked. Only THEN did Cruz’s numbers”soar”, for little else other than he was the last one there by default.
The problem for the Cruz people was that they were hoping for Trump to go down by now.
And now he’s banking on a win or showing in Iowa so that he can ramp up a narrative that he is this wonder candidate that clawed his way to the top, when he hasn’t done anything but stay out of the way until Trump cleared out all of the others so he didn’t have to spend time and money doing it himself. Or get dirty.
There are plenty of people here who know that I'm not, and who've seen it. As for you, I couldn't care less what a Cruz birther believes.
