Yep, as soon as Trump wins Florida’s winner take all primary, the race is basically over.

Not according to the uniparty. We are all their slaves. We are supposed to go to work, pay taxes, sit down, and shut up.

IIRC the are required to vote as “electors” on the first ballot. If there is not a clear winner then they can vote for whomever they like. I believe that the strategy rests on getting the electors to not vote for who they have committed to by virtue of their election. So if these electors were to jump ship on the first ballot, it opens the flood gates to a “brokered” convention.....in which case the base revolts and leaves the party.

I believe he would have to have one majorities in 8 states and a majority of delegates to win on the first ballot.

If no one wins on the first ballot it would become a brokered convention.

The GOPe *wants* Hillary Clinton elected.

Make no mistake, they would rather see her in the White House than Donald Trump. The GOPe can work with Hillary. They're cut from the same cloth.

Note to GOP establishment leadership: you have been warned. If one of your precious lying, cringing, sold-out, PC, DC insider GOP establishment scum who continuously stabs we American workers in the back is nominated, I promise you ARE going to lose and lose big time. In case you haven’t noticed, the great unwashed masses of your “base” are in open revolt.

We elected you to majorities in both houses of Congress and you’ve done NOTHING to stop a single iota of Obama’s kommie, U.S.A-destroying agenda. Instead, all you’ve done is make excuses, pretended you were powerless when you were simply too frightened to wield your power and conducted kabuki theater which you thought was fooling us.

Well, we DO actually know better. And if you want to take the whole party down in flames, why, we’ll be glad to help, because what we have now deserves to go down in flames, either with Trump or without him.

Nuking TRUMP is a scorched earth policy because any hand-picked RINO will lose in a landslide because you will have terminally pissed-off 40% of your base, and you will also lose the down-ticket across the board, including Congress, the Governors, and the State houses, because the base will stay home.

If you nuke Trump at the convention, the GOP is done as an ongoing concern and, like the Whig party, you’ll be relegated to the dustbin of history.

So, go ahead, and “broker” the convention and see what happens. I dare you!

Yeah, it’s “corrupted” because Cruz seems to be winning.

That should be a lot more interesting than the coronations we have seen since the ‘60s. More people will watch in order to know the outcome. They will see the excitement of a contest instead of the typical, scripted infomercial.

I would think so. He’s been around the block a few times, and he can see out into the future, so I’m sure you’re right.

A party needs to stand for something, or it is no longer a party. It just becomes a random collection of names without purpose.

A political party is more than that. It's primarily a means for the ruling class to extract large sums of money from people and companies seeking political favors, and smaller sums of money from fools.

If the polls are right, Trump will most every primary. If that happens there will be no brokered convention. It will be a walk for Trump
