None of these folks can think their way out of a paper bag.

Trump had a $3-$10 billion dollar enterprise on the line, and 22,500 employees that depended on him being in good stead with political figures.

His main business operation was in New York, and these knuckle-draggers can’t fathom that donations in New York might involve Democrats.

For heaven’s sake, who dresses these people?

Trump didn’t spend 100% of his time in politics. He wasn’t an expert.

When he did decide to run, he decided to go Right instead of Left. That’s what we want people to do, and this doesn’t make them happy.

Well, in a few weeks Ted’s Excellent Adventure will be played out. Maybe we can get back to some sanity around here.

If Cruz is stating his desire to end "oil subsidies," then he is in danger of giving the appearance of parroting Obama's crusade against oil production.

Right. Obama had a big push in 2012 to end oil subsidies and I'm pretty certain so does Hillary. Strange bedfellows and all.

Just a note, Cruz is also at odds with one his a key Iowa supporter Rep Steve King who is for RFS ethanol.

Honestly, I don’t want to go negative on Ted. Nobody is perfect and Ted is no different.

His people are convinced he is. B. S.

They don’t like Trump because he’s a flip flopper.

So is Ted. They hypocrisy is deafening from these people.

At least I know Trump’s history and am honest with myself.

These folks don’t know Ted’s history, and haven’t been honest for six months.

Last count, IIRC, there were something on the order of 20,000+ Protestant denominations - each being a splinter group situation (The price of “personal interpretation” of scripture?)

We Catholics have a civil war brewing in the Church, between the traditionalists (orthodox) and the modernists (liberal, Post Vatican II, novus ordo, etc.) The sodomites and Marxist have taken over the Church (thanks to the intrigue of Freemasonry and Communism) ... With Francis (Jorge Bergoglio) as Pope, all hell is breaking loose, as he speaks one heretical absurdity after another - it is becoming an intolerable situation for many Catholics - even the liberals are beginning to get nervous.

Insofar as no change to the liturgy in 2000 years ... if only it were so! Despite the prohibition (on pain of suffering the penalty of “anathema,” for violation of the papal bull (constitution / law), Quo Primum, enacted by Pope Saint Pious V against altering the Sacred Liturgy of the Mass ... The “innovators” (liberals) and periti (experts) of Vatican II did in fact alter the liturgy, beginning in 1962 ... to the point where by 1970 the Catholic Mass was no longer recognizable as such, and was more Anglican in form.

Does that perhaps then make Donald Trump a modern version of Paul Bunion? (TIMBER!)

Start listing them and be prepared to take fire. Otherwise, go away.

Fire away!

You can try to explain away his liberalism but can someone be so wrong so often still be trusted to make good decisions? He has proven he couldn’t make them in the past so why would I trust him to do so in the future?

Said Hillary Clinton was a good Sec of State
Kelo Decision
Supported TARP
Supported Obama’s stimulus
Was for admitting Syrian refugees
Wanted nationalized healthcare
Was okay with nationalizing banks
He was pro-abortion
Taxing the rich
Legalizing drugs
Supported assault weapon ban

Is this enough or should I go on?

He complains about Obama’s economy yet praised every single thing Obama did with the economy!

Trump is a political chameleon.

I got a chuckle reading one of the Cruzers saying that Trump is now against oil and evil! I was tempted to tell him that Cruz along with Obama and Hillary are for the same to end big oil subsidies. LoL.

I figure we ride this out, and in a little over six weeks their world starts unraveling.

A few weeks after that, their fantasy will become clear to them.

What we knew six months ago, will finally be proven spot on.

Didn’t address your point head on, but you’re exactly right. There’s just no thought process at all. They just spew. I wasn’t aware of the similarities you mentioned, but it doesn’t surprise me.

Ted flip flops with the best of them. Of course that’s only a problem when Trump does it.

A couple of weeks ago I had a Cruz supporter tell me, more or less, that Cruz and Trump were blood brothers.

I said, yeah, just wait until Trump perceives Cruz as any kind of threat....

Ted voting ‘yes’ on TPA while Obama pushing for TPP is another head scratcher. According to Politico, TPP is dead until the lame duck session in 2016 after the election.

We should not allow trolls or anyone else to create a ‘cage match’ between Trump and Cruz supporters in this forum.

I support Cruz but I also accept that Trump’s tearing down of the Republican Establishment is a good thing in the long run, regardless of how the campaign comes out.

I agree with your post. By the way, a few people have commented that it’s unclear if Trump was even saying that he supported ethanol subsidies. He made some general comment like “ethanol’s great:, or something like that. I don’t know if he’s actually ever gone on record with his exact position on ethanol subsides and ethanol mandates for fuel. Either way, if he supports subsidies, it’s one issue I disagree with him on. There are at least a half dozen issues of much greater importance that I agree with him on over Cruz.

The Left, the GOPe, the RNC, Jeb, Rubio, Hillary, etc., would love for folks to look at this as a serious attack - looks like some are biting....

If they really want Cruz, as I do, they will stop whining and start donating - might be nice if they also donate a bit to FR while they are at it...

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to FR

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

> “Said Hillary Clinton was a good Sec of State”
DOESN’T APPLY. HE WAS A REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER

> “Kelo Decision”
DOESN’T APPLY. HE WAS A REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER

> “Supported TARP”
DOESN’T APPLY. HE WAS A REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER

THE ABOVE IS IDIOTIC TO DISCUSS AND HERE’S WHY:

To disqualify Donald Trump as a serious conservative based on his leadership as a real estate developer would then disqualify Ronald Reagan (and I adored RR) as a conservative because of his embracing FDR’s New Deal Programs.

People hold views according to their environments. If the sink water is filthy, suddenly people may become environmentally involved and support environmental causes. When they learn environmentalism is occupied by a bunch of communists, they backtrack.

Donald Trump as a businessman responsible for hundreds of businesses and tens of thousands of employees is going to have views that are different than Donald Trump as President of the United States responsible for hundreds of millions of people. The thing to note is that he does not lie, he delivers on his promises, he strives to make things better and almost always does make things better. He has a huge track record of real successful performance, of actually doing things rather than just talking about them which is what most politicians do.

Supported Obama’s stimulus
EARLY ON NEARLY EVERYONE SUPPORTED OBAMA’S STIMULUS BECAUSE THE ECONOMIC SITUATION WAS DIRE. THAT’S NOT A DONALD TRUMP FAILING, THAT’S A NATIONAL FAILING.

Was for admitting Syrian refugees
AT FIRST IN PRINCIPLE ONLY, AND ONLY IF THEY WERE SCREENED AND KNOWNED, AND LIMITED IN NUMBERS. AFTER BEING BRIEFED ON THE TRUE NATURE OF THE INFLUX, HE CAME OUT AGAINST AND DECLARED THEY ARE ALL GOING BACK.

LISTING THIS LAST ITEM IS TRULY STUPID. YOU WON’T GET ANYWHERE BY RESORTING TO CRAP LIKE THIS. NOW I SEE YOU’RE SCUM.

I WAS THINKING TO RESPOND TO EACH ITEM OF YOUR LIST BUT YOU’VE SHOWN A PENCHANT FOR GRABBING ONTO BULLSH*T THAT BURIES ANY CREDIBILITY YOU MIGHT HAVE HAD AND DISQUALIFIES YOU FROM ANY SERIOUS DISCUSSION. YOU PULLED THE LIST OFF THE INTERNET FROM IDIOTS THAT WOULD CRITICIZE DONALD TRUMP ABOUT ANYTHING, LIKE THE FAGGOTS AT THE NY TIMES.

YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE, BUT YOU BLEW IT. YOU’RE A WASTE OF TIME. NOW GO AWAY AND DON’T POST TO ME ANYMORE.

But it was to impress evangelicals that his evangelical past is much stronger or more familiar.....But again, in the grand scheme, it’s not newsworthy.

******************************

My opinion, Trump is deliberately trying to give Iowa to Cruz— I said that from the time he went after Carson.

Cruz’s strongest suit is religion— you can’t beat him there. He has the endorsement of not only Iowa’s Vander Plaats and Rep. Steve King, but evangelical leaders nationally.

Trump knows that when he says as you suggest— ‘I’m more evangelical’- he’s not just tweaking Cruz— more importantly, he’s tweaking the judgment of King and Vander Plaats. They are now in the position that they must come out and defend their reputations— and explain why they endorsed Cruz over Trump.

Attack Cruz on trade, he’s an “insider”, maybe even Canadian— never on religion, especially in Iowa.

Trump knows that- he’s punting Iowa.

None of it is BS. Trump was on the wrong side of each and every one of those issues. You try and explain away the views Trump espoused with the wave of a hand. It doesn’t work. The majority of these views he held while the current administration was in office so nothing is ancient history.

You have no idea what Trump believes. Someone who has been a liberal his entire life is not going to wake up one morning and be a conservative. Unless you are Trump, of course.

There are only two possibilities. One, Trump is a liberal and is is liar or two, Trump has shown the worst judgement of any Republican candidate running. Either way, he his not fit for the office.

You have responded as I would expect you to. Name calling in a fit of rage. It is a hallmark of Trump supporters.
