The hippie, communist Democrats at the WaPO think Hitlery can beat Cruz.

I think you may be onto something, I’m scratching my head why Cilliza is writing this.

And they are probably right.

assuming that the past history of GOP nomination fights works as a broad predictor of where the 2016 race is headed

That may be the biggest flaw in his analysis.

They know that they can beat Cruz easier than Trump.

I think either would be a winner, but Trump fights dirty, just like the Democrats and their Sycophant media.

I think she could probably beat Jeb! I don’t think she would beat anyone willing to take it to her.

“They know that they can beat Cruz easier than Trump.”

I agree that’s prolly what they think. Trump has an appeal to dems that dislike what their party has become, and most certainly will take votes from Hillary.

As I’ve said for a while now:

Go Trump! Go Cruz! The rest, GO AWAY!

IOW, perfectly OK with this.

That is exactly right. And I they they are right. I like Cruz a lot, but I do not like his chances in the general election.

I didn’t want WaPo to notice so early in the race. I hope Cruz is ready to take the lead and hold it for the remaining months. As for Trump/Cruz, my impression is that they like and respect each other. I hope that will continue regardless of which one gets the nomination.

Yah right WaPo!

You media are scared beyond belief by a Trump Presidency.

It’s Cruz not trump who look s more favored for the Wapo to have its way with after the nomination

When Wapo comes out before the nomination and says its Cruz that’s more likely to beat Hillary then they’d have a point to make

Agreed. An Electoral victory for Cruz is much more narrow than for Trump. I also think Trump makes Hillary have to defend/attack more states than she would vs Cruz. In the latter case, she would only have to concentrate on battleground states.

The Media and the Democrats (but, I repeat myself) are currently directing nearly all their energy and firepower against Donald Trump. Even though Cruz is the most conservative of the candidates, he is attracting surprizingly little fire by comparison.

If Trump loses steam, all these guns will be directed at whoever becomes the new Number 1. Trump has stunned and amazed everyone by his ability to withstand withering fire. I don't see the others (including Cruz) being able to do this.

And do not forget the money. The Saudis will fund Hillary. Only Trump can trump that.

“Cruz comes across as aggressively and unapologetically conservative — a less controversial and more electable version of real estate magnate Trump.”

Laying on real thick, aren’t you, leftist press?

“Hey, conservatives! We think you ought to really look at that Cruz fellow. You know, he’s just like Trump, he just isn’t scary and he doesn’t hurt people’s feelings. He’s just soooooo much better. Come on, go with him so we can have a civilized election, m’kay?”

Now who here is willing to take the cheese the press is luring you with?
