To me social media explicitly removes all privacy.
There is a scene in “Person of Interest” in which Finch tells Reese that he invented social media: There wasn’t enough data on people on public, private, and govt. databases but you’d be amazed what people reveal on social media...
People put it out there voluntarily, so you’re right; they can’t complain.
Of course they do not want to look at social media posts, because then they would never get anyone into the country!
This is deliberate..
