LOL. Exactly.
He certainly wasn't the first. But I give him absolute credit for saying it unapologetically, loudly, with conviction and passion. He is the reason it's a main campaign issue and in the media. Based on Trump's very public past, much like Obama's, unless he has had a radical political change of heart, I struggle to trust him.
That said, I like what Trump has done for this election cycle and for politics in America. He has put the right issues out there and forced some conversation and consideration onto the Low Info crowd. I will support him if he wins the nomination. But Cruz is a proven conservative, a Reagan style Conservative. I like Cruz better because his record, while not perfect, is proven and absolutely conservative.
There is NOTHING more conservative than stopping a permanent democrat/marxist voting majority and doing whats best for the people and the country. By virtue of Mr. Trump’s position on illegal immigration he Trumps all others conservatism.
I am a Trumpiteer!
Democrats have opened our borders to all manner of horrific Third World violence, crime, and disease. The GOP has supported and endorsed this vile activity every single step of the way. Trump has tapped into the fury of the American people over the unrelenting anti-American NWO push of our paid employees in government. Trump could win this on this one issue alone. Americans are tired of being betrayed by their government on both sides of the aisle.
Levin really screwed the goat tonight. He is finished!!
By all means, will you please defend your statement?
Ethanol? Trump turned into panderbear. Horrible policy that raises food prices and does nothing to lessen the use of oil while damaging engines (especially small engines). Ethanol is an idea that is so stupid it could only conceived of by government! Big government. Crony Government.
Scalia? Trump had no clue about the context of the statements that were questions from a briefing - not Scalia’s opinion - and that is a normal part of oral arguments before the court. Scalia has been a stalwart conservative and he deserves better than what he got from Trump. Mr. Anti-PC (I like this) all of a sudden went full on PC?
Cruz - I would not care - it’s campaign sniping, but this was plain dumb. You hope to be the nominee so you call the #2 candidate (most conservative by the way) unqualified and a maniac? That is rich..... safe to say if Trump wins this he won’t be picking Cruz as his running mate. The goal of the primaries is to pick up your opponents support.
I am very disappointed. I was starting to warm up to Trump because I have always had issues trusting him and all of a sudden he sounds like panderbear, the PC lamestream media, and McConnell and Grahamnesty within a few days?
Levin was right on all three points.
Mark didn’t mind loving Gang of Eight Rubio. Remember when Mark said Rubio was a true conservative? Yeh Mark. Right.
Here’s a book he wrote in 2011
“Trump has tapped into the fury of the American people over the unrelenting anti-American NWO push of our paid employees in government.”
You say “tapped into” I say exploited.
Remember Cruz was talking the talk and walking the walk when Donald’s biggest concern was who he’d fire next on Celebrity Apprentice.
Sorry FRiend, you’re wrong there. Cruz was fighting Obama on amnesty from the moment he was elected to the Senate.
How many GOP candidates loved Ethanol in Iowa on the last go around? Get real. This happens every four years. If you want to win Iowa you say you like the Ethanol subsidy.
this is not new.
Trump is results oriented. What has Cruz accomplished so far in his term as Senator?
Maam, here are some of Trump’s positions, then and now.
Abortion
Then: On “Meet The Press” in 1999, Trump said he was “very pro-choice.” “I hate the concept of abortion,” he said. “I hate it. I hate everything it stands for. ... but I just believe in choice.”
Now: In an interview with Bloomberg Politics in January, Trump said, “I’m pro-life and I have been pro-life.” He said he believed there should be exceptions in cases of rape, incest or the life of the mother.
Guns
Then: In Trump’s 200 book “The America We Deserve,” he wrote that he “generally” opposed gun control but supported an assault weapons ban and a longer waiting period to purchase a firearm.
Now: At the 2015 NRA-ILA Leadership Forum, Trump said if he became president, “the 2nd Amendment will be totally protected.” He told the Web site Ammoland he does “not support expanding background checks” and said current background checks “don’t work.”
Healthcare
Then: In an interview with Larry King in 1999, Trump said he was “very liberal when it comes to health care” and that he believes in “universal healthcare.”
Now: During his announcement, he called Obamacare “a disaster called the big lie” and said the deductibles were so high they were “virtually useless.”
Hillary Clinton
Then: Either Trump or his son donated to Clinton in 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007, he invited her to his 2005 wedding in Florida, where she sat front row, and he’s donated at least $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation. He also said in an appearance on the Howard Stern show in the mid-2000s that she was a fantastic senator.
Now: On NBC on Wednesday, he called Clinton “the worst secretary of state in the history of our nation” and said she would be “a terrible president.”
Party affiliation
Then: Trump changed his party from Republican to Independent Party in 1999, and switched again to Democrat in 2001.
Now: Has been a registered Republican since 2009.
Of all the people in the world alive today, Scalia makes the short list of those i am most thankful for. The hit on Scalia is never going to be okay with me.
Well said - I feel the same.
Typical for Trump attacking real conservatives from the left.
Great stuff. Thanks.
You mean, Barnum: “There’s a sucker born every minute.”
And Lincoln’s, “You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.”
?? That’s the reference?
And trump won’t do it. He’s promising all the illegals who are “productive” can return via an “expedited process.” That’s about half of them, or about 6 million to 15 million.
Doesn’t make it right.
Cruz’s stand shows true character.
Unless you’re a gorgeous conservative with powerful convictions. “If you want someone who is going to go along to get along, I ain’t your guy.”
