And Hewitt doesn't have the knowledge to be discussing those questions. Those are questions for studies by military experts and other professionals and much consultation with a variety of experts.
But maybe Hewitt should begin asking the candidates how they would redesign From 1040 and what brand computers should be purchased by the Defense Department.
And if Trump had said that he would consult with the military to determine what they think the priority should be, then no one would be talking about his response. But he didn't. Instead, he gave an answer that suggests that he does not know what the nuclear triad is.
The question may have been a bit overly technical for an early Presidential debate, but it wasn't a "gotcha," by any stretch.
