Jesus taught us to love another god? Show me where!/

Jesus taught us to kill our neighbor? Show me where!

Seems like a personal attack there! Maybe you ought to review the forum rules, since you are so well educated. These are just a couple of rules which you seem to constantly overlook:

The main guideline to posting on the Religion Forum: "Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal."
Whereas posters may argue vigorously for and against beliefs on "open" Religion Forum threads it is never tolerable to use ad hominems in religious debate because they invariably lead to flame wars when the subject is one's deeply held religious beliefs.

I'm guessing your hate for "metmom" stems from the fact that she's NOT an advocate of public schools. This is really the first time I've encountered your non-Christian hate for a poster on FR AND your adamant defense of islam.

I really raises my curiosity. Are you a muslim public school teacher? A union representative in the public schools? Are you a muslim? Are you teacher at all?

Please shed some light on why you feel compelled to all this vitriol against people teaching their own children and being against the public school bureaucracies which are directly anathema to liberty and freedom?

Show me where I support Islam, oh that right you can’t. I support knowledge. Obviously you don’t.

That’s a non sequtur. Whether or not they have Jesus in their hearts, the assignment was objectively wrong and those who oversaw or gave the assignment should have jobs that better suit their judgment, like shoveling pig poop.

Maybe you ought to since this is not the Religion Forum those rules don't apply.

One who is objectively innocent of a crime may not be grouped with the guilty, no matter their inclinations. We are not to judge hearts, only actions. Else, our own evil inclinations might be judged.

You write, as have I, for many years, islam must be destroyed. Indeed, it is a false religion, blasphemous, offensive to God.

But I have never written “moslems must be destroyed.” Those born into the crime of islam are innocent of the crime of islam until they, themselves pick up the sword, or at least give true assent to it.

Does that implicate the majority of moslems? I personally think so.

Are there moslems who are innocent of this? In my judgment and experience, yes.

God himself once said he’d spare a city if He could find any just men within it. That is His judgment. Who are we to judge more harshly than God?

Not all moslems are murderers or rapists.

That distinction is important.

So in 11th grade American Lit Students should not Study Native American Creation myths. Should they be allowed to study American folklore, like Paul Bunyan, or Pecos Bill?

In 6th grade should they be forbidden from studying Greek myths? Maybe we should ban "Bullfinch's Mythology" for all Public school libraries.

In creative writing class should they be forbidden from writing their own creation myths or studying Japanese Haiku?

How about the Harry Potter books or the Twilight books?

Non sequiters abound with you! Where did I say such things? No, in fact I gave personal testimony to the opposite. I personally took comparative religions in high school, and then, in college, and delving deeper, in islam, itself. But I never encountered a teacher or professor who assigned me to have to give an assent, in writing or in speech, to the profession of another faith. That is the object of the assignment presented in the article.

For those who can’t distinguish between teaching about other faiths, and seeming to coerce students to make professions of faith in various different religions, there is always shoveling pig poop.

Many moslems sympathize with the most extreme elements of islam.

Which makes them a threat.

In my view, a large majority. But not even all of them are murderers or rapists. But there are a lot of moslems, and even if we say that but 10% are "moderate," that's a hundred million who don't intrinsically want to cut our heads off.

One must account for them.

And how does one identify the ones who are safe and those who wish to cut your head off?

Too high of a percentage support the radical element for my comfort. Until and unless the non-radical ones speak up and condemn the radical element and actively do something to stop them, then they must be suspect.

There's simply no other option when it comes to protecting your life and well being.

LOL You clearly defended what this school did. THAT was all about teaching islam to American school children. That, in and of itself, is support.

What knowledge is there to be gained by have school children in America write the shahad?

Well, one can look at statistical evidence and combine it with personal knowledge. So , there are a few million moslems in the US, and over time, there have been some dozens of terrorist crimes.

So, statiscally, most moslems in the US don’t commit terrorist crimes.

But how does one know the one in a thousand who will commit heinous acts vs the 999 who wont?

Experience and judgment. The fellow who works for me who was a tenured college professor, why did he flee his homeland, and leave behind a relatively good paying, high prestige job? I asked him this. He answered. I have three daughters who are not yet grown. And I didn’t want to be coerced by the religious authorities to have them mutilated when they came of age.

Do you think he’s particularly interested in following the dictates of religious authorities when they preach what goes against the law written on all men’s hearts?

Or the fellow who has me over for a cookout, and when I catch him eating a bacon cheeseburger, and point out he is a moslem, he laughs, and says,I’m moslem, when I want to be. Do you figure he’s going to risk death like the San Bernadino murderers? His wife and children wear western clothes, he invites his infidel co-workers and boss to events, he eats and serves food that is haram, and allows his wife to expose herself to other men, to INFIDELS, he is more interested in accumulating wealth through rental real estate than virgins through killing infidels. Maybe, the odds are low that he will commit a terrorist act? Especially as he was a victim of a terrorist a ct, where he and his fellow moslems were harmed by terrorists?

I could go on. A few moslems in the US will act to kill us. Most won’t.

If I had a moslem working for me who requested 5 prayer breaks per day, who kept his Pakistani born wife from view, who argued with other employees from a radical point of view, I might be concerned, but I never did. My moslem employees were more interested in chasing the American dream than heavenly virgins. And the various moslem businessmen with whom I have worked showed similar attributes.

I must use my reason to estimate risk.
