Trump Brushes Off Putin’s Alleged Killing Of Journalists

Zeke J Miller @ZekeJMiller

Dec. 18, 2015

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump brushed off well-documented allegations that Russian President Vladimir Putin has had political opponents and journalists killed, following praise from the Russian leader for his presidential campaign.

In an interview with “Morning Joe” Friday, Trump said he was pleased to be praised by Putin. “Sure, when people call you brilliant it’s always good, especially when the person heads up Russia,” he said.” Putin had called Trump “bright and talented” and all-but-endorsed his campaign this week.

But when host Joe Scarborough raised doubts about whether Putin’s support should be coveted, Trump brushed it off.

“He also is a person that kills journalists, political opponents and invades countries. Obviously that would be a concern, would it not,” Scarborough asked.

The allegations are out there. Just not the documentation to prove them

And that IS the critical point. I've heard allegations that Filthy Harry Reid is a disgusting pedophile but no evidence or documentation has turned up to establish that. Yet.

And he builds churches!

I don't know if Putin builds churches. He returned religious building and properties though.

Precisely why any allegations of Putin’s wrong-doing must be met with accusations of supporting the gay agenda! The logic is clear! One just has to have a strong mind to see it!

Enough analysis...Trumpinator, you're from NY. What is that accent I detect? Then again, maybe I'm projecting.

I sound like Trump I am told since we grew up in the same area of Queens. Get used to hearing that for 8 years.

Yes. I’ve heard Savage on these issues. I tend to agree with him. People I respect disagree. So I stay cautious. I’m with you though, on many issues important to me, Putin is great. Good for him on the homo issues. When I read things he says, he seems smart and level headed. I’ll get bashed for saying that. I can’t deny what I see. As for the invasions, the Russians have said repeatedly that it is about the expansion of NATO. NATO agreed to not move closer to Russian borders and then did the opposite.

I am not pro or anti Putin. I’m saying I don’t see how he is so awful. Certainly there are far worse world leaders, some of whom get red carpet treatment.

I give Russia some grace because they are country with a dark history. Freedom is only in its infancy there. So people gripe the press is controlled. Probably that is mostly true. Look where they came from. It has certainly improved anyway. Look at our media. We are the free speech and press standard bearers supposedly. Our media is corrupt and our free speech rights are under attack from many directions. We are headed backwards. At least Russia is moving in the positive direction (started at -10). We are moving in the negative direction (started at +10).

See what I mean? Number line stats just used to illustrate.

I reserve the right to totally change my mind should different evidence present itself.

I also think Putin was right, calm, rational but strong in the conflict with Turkey.

Let me know when you can link an article that at least kind of proves Putin ordered the hits on journalists.

You've got Litvinenko's testimony that he met with two Russian agents before he fell ill, and traces of polonium found in one of their apartments.

But, as our FRussians will point out, no evidence that Putin was involved . . . much like there is no evidence Obama ran guns over the Mexican border. Someone else did it. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I take it you’ll be voting for Hillary once Trumps nominated. Or maybe the CPUSA ticket?

The Soviet Union had an intelligence agency before it was even a country. They were called ‘Bolsheviks’ - which meant ‘majority’ - when that was far from true.

The first thing the Soviets had to do was kill off the White Russians. That got done faster than anyone expected it would.

Don’t know what it is about Russians, or Russia. Maybe its because most of their country is above the Arctic Circle.

NATO agreed to not move closer to Russian borders and then did the opposite.

Did the Russians ever agree not to invade and occupy any neighboring countries? Just curious.

Delusional not to believe Putins a murderer? Where’s your proof the allegations are true?

How do people manage to make it through life by being such poor judges of people? BTW, this is not a court of law, but the court of public opinion. Objections in regard to process are moot.

Putin is a gangster. It's no more complicated than that...and the rest is just details.

Cruz would make a great Vice President. As a lawyer all his life working for the govt Cruz has no experience running a large organization so he can learn from Trump.

Putin is a gangster.

Scene from The Godfather:

"Michael: My father is no different than any powerful man, any man with power, like a president or senator.

Kay Adams: Do you know how naive you sound, Michael? Presidents and senators don't have men killed.

Michael: Oh. Who's being naive, Kay?"

Russia was to stick to its borders and NATO was to not move closer. That’s how I understand it. NATO has been gobbling up the region and moving closer, probably figuring a weakened Russia could do nothing about it. So fault Russia for worrying about their own security and the proximity of enemy bases. Just be honest enough to see what initiated it. It wasn’t Russia’s desire to reestablish the USSR.

They have no more Warsaw Pact to counter NATO. Still NATO expands toward them. Is it really that impossible to see why they are concerned.

Alleged is a fair term, not guilty until proved so.

During going from a communism economy to a democracy there were many rival factions at odds with each other. Something like that would be hard to control, even by Putin during the early stages.

Also, I think their rules of engagement were sterner in scope than ours. Ask yourself how many whistle blowers and traitors we got rid of, the latest being Snowden?
