A good hoax would have “specific threats”. A sophisticated IT professional with bad intent could cause havoc in this climate of fear. It must be extraordinarily difficult for law enforcement to discern what is legitimate and for authorities operating under time constraints to make decisions. Remember if they believe a “threat” is 90% likely to be bogus, they probably will still err on the side of caution. Muslim jihadist terrorists have a powerful tool in the internet not only to recruit and raise funds, but they can disrupt American life without a physical presence or firing a shot.

Public schools shut down on Monday? Well around here in California they are all shut down for what the atheists now call Winter Break and won't be back in session until after New Years. Is it different on the East coast or just more ignorant reporting?
