Donald Trump has a solution to the Miss Universe crown controversy: Share the wealth!
"What I would do is make them a co-winner, that would be very cool," the presidential candidate and former Miss Universe owner told Matt Lauer on the "Today" show Monday.
Pageant host Steve Harvey made an out-of-this-world blunder on Sunday night by mistakenly announcing Miss Colombia the winner -- before stripping her of the sash and tiara on live TV just minutes later to hand over the top prize to Miss Philippines, the true winner.
"What happened to the girl from Colombia is devastating," Trump told Lauer. "To give it to her for a couple of minutes and then take it away ... I would recommend that they go have a beautiful ceremony, which is good for the brand and good for Miss Universe, and do a co-winner. I think something like that could work."

Share the crown this year. Great suggestion.
She was awarded, and actually put on the crown for crying out loud.
It was a big screw-up, but sharing the crown is I think the perfect solution, just this year.
He goofed. Sometimes life calls for a response of grace. This is one of those times. Grace to Steve. Grace to the winner. Grace to the runner-up. But do not water down the title for the winner by making the runner-up a co-winner.

Steve Harvey has done us all a great big favor . . . he makes EVERY blunder I have ever committed (EH-VAAH) look puny by comparison! Thank you, Steve!!!!!!!!
Why should Miss Philippines have to share the crown? She won it all by herself. Up the prize value for Miss Columbia but keep her runner-up title in place.
I wonder who will be the host next year. They’ll probably let Steve Harvey do it because he has learned from his mistake. /Sarc.

He is a good host. He should be forgiven. We should all both laugh and moan. It was hard on Miss Columbia but I tell you what, she will get all kinds of attention and interviews and benefits from this. It is like runner-up in American Idol. Sometimes that is better than the obligations of the top slot, at least in a case like this.
All those other ladies there would LOVE to trade places with either one of them, Columbia or Philippines.
BEcause Donald thinks the rules don’t matter...his feeeeeeeelings trump the long standing protocols. Miss Philippines won fair and square...fire Harvey, Donald...cmon you can say it...”you’re fired”.

It is a competition, not a charity. She will have all kinds of attention and benefits to this. She is still the runner-up.

People goof. Actions have consequences. Sure it’s a beauty pageant and not a world altering crisis. But he destroyed that woman’s entire professional life with his goof. To say nothing of the emotional humiliation he inflicted on her on a global (literal) stage.
He should never work in his field again. And be sued into bankruptcy.
Miss Colombia looks like a wax Barbie.

The pageant should announce that Steve Harvey has been dismissed. He had only one job to do...
How on earth did he get to be the MC of that show in the fist place? He is more of a comedian, game show host- not the sort of class and dignity you expect to have hosting that show.
Nothing against him or his career, but some people are not suited for some things. It’s like when they cast a poor actor for president in a show. They often cast Morgan Freeman to play a president, because he can pull it off. you would not cast pee-wee Herman as a president (not seriously) I don’t think Steve Harvey fits.
