They showed a documentary on one of the cable networks some years ago. The doc definitely had a pro-Muslim bias. Poor, oppressed natives kicking out the exploiting European colonials.
Some Muslim countries in the mideast are little more civilized than others. The Arab emirates are a little more accommodating to the modern world.
But some Muslim countries regressed when they expelled the colonizers. Algeria is one of them.
IIRC most of the muzzie population in France is of North African or Central African origin, from their former colonies.
