I see what she's saying, I'm sorry you don't, and with that, we'll simply disagree.
I'm going to double down, without Trump Cruz could not have muscled his way as high as he is.
For many of the reasons you like Cruz, I do as well, he is still my first choice. That does not prevent me from seeing what Trump has done to the race, and what he has done for the race.
He is the two ton gorilla. He may not last, and if he doesn't he will have paved the way for Cruz. I, for one, appreciate what he has done, win or lose.
We see time and again on these threads Trump supporters twisting facts or distorting the record. That makes me angry but I concede that Trump has done much to alter the race. But I do not confuse that with evidence of good character, I do not confuse that with evidence of conservative bona fides. And since I am wary of the man behind the rhetoric, I am equally wary of the perfectly normal human tendency in all of us always to long for a Messiah, the man on horseback.
We saw this in 2008 in the Democrats concerning Barack Obama. It was almost a parody of Messiah worship. We expect that from Democrats, we should not expect it from conservatives.
If Trump is nominated I will support him, I will defend him against every unjust distortion posted by the PC media. But I will nevertheless be wary of what we are getting.
